I had to have something to put in there, making a ridiculous excuse for why you were scummy showed, I thought, that I wasn't serious about it. My first day, especially not early first day, posts are never overly serious.

So we weren't supposed to take your reasons seriously? Did you think that should be obvious at the time, or only in hindsight?

Or course, wanting to keep a fun tone in the thread is obviously great, and I apologize for not getting your attempts at humour.

A shortlist consisting of 1/3 of possible players. Of course a reread might bring someone else on the list as well.


Something that I'm trying to keep in mind is that with 7 players the dynamics are different. Our cop is probably our best asset so the main priority is not to get him killed, but maybe the scum team will want to try something new (with a possible lylo on D2)

But back to the main point - I don't like Adrien's game at all yet. It's a litany of little tells all pointing the same direction.

He is making content by answering questions for others:

He is prepping possible End of Day vote swings without giving any reason for it:

Going to sleep. Considering moving to Gazglum, but I think I'll sleep on it and reconsider tomorrow.

The second post is particularly bad, because it was said to DP, and immeidately pulls away all the pressure that Adrien's vote had created. Does Adrien think DP is scum? If he does, he wants to vote him. If he is not sure, he wants to apply pressure to see if DP cracks, but Adrien is immediately undercutting that pressure by suggesting this is just a placeholder vote before he moves to a better target. So what this feels like is Adrien voting for someone he knows is innocent, and trying not to get them too offside.

Particularly the idea that Adrien is answering questions (like the TZ answer) in order to generate content. That seems like a pretty weak tell to me. His comments about you don't seem particularly out of place to me. I don't think you can really say that just because he wants to see more from you that he's trying to set you up for the lynch...

Also just because he says he's considering moving to you doesn't mean he will. It's a bit of reach to say it undercuts pressure I think. Why should he only focus on one person? I feel like that's more scumhunty than scummy.

First off Gazglum you seem to suggest that my posts are either pointless or driving towards you. I'm sure you'll add my post #71 to that second category. By cherrypicking your quotes you made it look as if there was nothing else to my early game. Mischaracterizing people is a null tell but it's not very helpful.

How have I cherry-picked? I'm pointing to specific aspects of your play I dislike. For example, that you kept me as a backburner suspect without committing or giving any evidence. I'm looking for scum-hunting, and I'm not seeing it from you. You say that my post against you is 'not helpful', but can you point to a post of yours that is helpful to town?

I think cherry-picking is the wrong word. I don't think you've cherry-picked so much as chosen to present the most negative interpretation of Adrien's posts.

I don't see the nefariousness in Adrien's posts. There is one place where I felt he was slightly scummy, but could also just be an attempt at humor. I started the chain with this:

Obviously this piggybacks off my interpretation of DP's posts, but with a more pointed turn. I don't particularly like the piggybacking, but at the same time I could also read this as an attempt at humor (Is this a thing now? The fun police are here. You're being charged with attempted humor with malicious intent.)

Very interesting! Well, you and I so often have our own mind-melds Lewwyn, that to read this from you puts you right up behind Adrien in my scum list. Possibly running in with the Hail Mary to save your scum buddy, or hoping to setup a focus onto me Day 2, if he is innocent.

I just can't believe that town Lewwyn comes in, reads the opposite to me and Novice on Adrien, doesn't even bother to look at the other players, then buzzes out for deadline.

Answering someone else's questions IS a weak tell, and is not my main problem with Adrien. But it IS a tell, I've seen it over and over. Wolves need to post, posting is hard when you're a wolf, so picking up any slack in the chat by answering questions like that is a godsend for them.

This is tosh. Adrien isn't saying he wants to see more of me, nor did he ask me questions. He set himself up to move onto me today, without giving a reason until directly called out on it. How is 'considering moving to Gazglum' asking to see more from me?

It means that he sets up two targets, DP and me, and suggests openly that he is willing to pick either one depending on how the wind blows. And it specifically undercuts pressure because of the timing of when he said it. Adrien votes DP, explains why, then tells him 'I'm not set on you' and names me as a possible alternative. But Adrien then immediately follows iby repeating that he thinks DP is scum:

Lynch one of the other 3 -> kill one of those you pointed out -> change your mind if need be to get the last needed lynch.
So not impossible.

I'm currently leaning towards Dp trying to throw cheap town points at his buddy (Winston ? Gazglum ?) without making it obvious.

If Adrien thinks DP is scum, then he should push him, but read the chain again. Adrien doesn't actually ask DP a single question. He's just spouting a scum-team theory and pointing out DP's bad logic which, as you say Lewwyn, is piggy-backing off you.

You say Adrien is scumhunting and focusing on two people, but he's not really focusing at anybody. It's all blurred vision from the Parisian. He's just naming DP and me as suspects, but not providing evidence when I push him.

And as for voting me Lewwyn, what is your case? Your vote is lazy. I suspect you might remember, Lewwyn, that I have never been mislynched on Day 1 as town, and I defend like a rabid badger. If you think I'm the wolf, you should at least have made a few comments to the rest of the town to try and convince them to move onto me up till deadline. Otherwise, you're just parking your vote on me and doing nothing to help make it stick.

Finally Lewwyn, if I am scum for my attacks on Adrien, where is your opinion on Novice, who stands by my side? Why don't you have an opinion on Jabbz, Winston or Novice?

I think it is suspicious to read today and conclude that I am scummy and Adrien not. But i may be biased on that question. What is more objective, is that you have delivered almost no insights or questions this whole day, Lewwyn.
And don't worry, I will never bow down to the fun police!

Everyone else has managed to give me at least a hint of that warm, fuzzy, townie feeling, but I've not felt it from either of these two as yet.

Right now, what I've got against the idea is that it's too obvious, on two counts:

1) Lew's defence of Ade.

2) Their similar - but opposite - responses to Dp101's logic:
