I settled Treasure Island this turn, two more cities will follow next turn. One in the north:

And one in the south, guaranteed to put Ellimist into a snit:

I'll have to declare war after I settle that city, since Loki could reach it from the fog.

Other things to point out: 7 turns to complete Heron Throne in Hook Hand, now that I have Marble connected. That wonder is worth as much to me for its culture (+8) as for its bonus hammers. Pushing some culture onto the northern shore should help me hold off Dreylin.

I've redone my plan for coves in the southern sea: now I'm going to put four of them in the 4x4 square around Treasure Island, then one more in the south.

Now that I have internal overseas routes, Dreylin is ahead of me on the last line of the demos screen:

Cities screen looks good, almost every city is at least breaking even on cash:

Glad to see the expansion continues to accelerate smile. And that the slider isn't being particularly punished by the expansion due to trade.

Um, are you sure about this? Loki could reach it from the fog...if he happens to be in the right spot in Ellimists' empire rather than in use exploring somewhere else or harassing someone else. We're going to want culture in the new city anyway super-fast because all of its resources are second ring, so we shouldn't be vulnerable too long. I really don't like the idea of declaring a fake war that we don't intend to actually fight.

Admittedly, Ellimist won't be moved much, he does not tend to feel grudges. But I still would be nervous about declaring a war without actually planning to fight it.

Edit: If you seriously think Ellimist would snipe a city just because he can, then we also need more than two warriors as garrison. Need to be killing off his territory to the point where we can hold against whatever army he has, too.

The problem is, super fast will be ten turns (and then four more turns for a border pop), which would give him enough time to trot Loki in from any remote corner of the map.

Speaking of culture, Q's shrine hasn't been doing a very good job of spreading his religion to me...

Ellimist is a pragmatist. He will do what he thinks he can get away with. Long term, that city definitely needs more than a couple warriors, but that's what I can spare now. It's probably to my advantage to have Ellimist at the top of the scoreboard, since it might make it possible for me to gain allies against him.

Lots of land left to settle before I have to fight for expansion, the mapmaker must have gone too big. Who was that guy again?

*Not a complaint; I'm enjoying the map so far, and it's certainly given me a chance to utilize my EXP trait.

I don't know...apparently we're going to be in a war from next turn.  All it takes to make the lurkers happy, is Ellimist to misinterpret your intentions (or not care what they are).

I did declare war on Ellimist. We'll see how he reacts. Happy, lurkers?

By the way, it looks as though Ellimist used the Drama bard to bulb Sanitation rather than a golden age.

And little sparkly unicorns! You can't have a proper war without them.
