Turn 68 & still at war with Dreylin; what's he waiting for? Foolishly moved Eagle004 onto a forested Hill near his culture to discover a waiting Chariot. Maybe he'll take it as just a show of frustration & not attack, but I doubt it.

In other news, 7th city, Paul Hart, settled & revolted to Hereditary Rule.

Turn 69 & Dreylin now offers a Peace Treaty. And i know why the delayrf peace, he's plonked a city on my borders! I have a 8 turn head-start on the Sheep tile where the BFCs overlap, but he's Creative (I'm semi-CRE with Stonehenge) so he'll make up that deficit over time. Only hope it's a stretch for him financially! I sent a cheeky counter-offer adding a demand for 25g compensation, as he killed Eagle004 with 79% odds..

Turn 70 & accepted a Peace Treaty with Dreylin with only 6g compensation. Getting fed up with the messages of "enemy spotted near ..." Ok 10 turns to build Spears (Hunting came in at end of turn) to defend against his Chariots and build my own to rush his border city. Got a Great Prophet at end of turn, will fuel a Golden Age for teching as many of the following: Currency, Code of Laws (quick/cheap Courthouses) & Feudalism (will then build Barracks/Totem Pole promoted Longbows to make my cities hard targets).

Turn 71 & I've chosen to delay the Golden Age for a turn. Currency & Code of Laws can be completed within the 6 turns, so I elected to finish Archery first.

Turn 74 & Currency completed at end of turn. Dreylin offered Open Borders - accepted. thought it was about time I offered same to both Pickle & Adrien (just in case Adrien doesn't accept & tries for free Worker, I've further protected the Settler en route to a new site with a Dog Soldier ... his sole lurking Chariot can't kill both protecting units in one turn right?)

Code of Laws will take 2 turns @ 70% so Feudalism gets a sizeable head start before the Golden Age ends. Currently top in GDP & Mfg & Soldier score is nearly enough to get 3rd spot & more defensive units (Archers & Spears) are building, although it's beginning to cost me now.

They're discussing a turn 75 full update in the tech thread; but my cities will be inflated with the Golden Age, so I don't see the point. Might confirm the Demos, and maybe the graphs, but that'll be about it .. if I bother, that is.

Turn 77 & I've spotted Adrien's sent a Settler over to nab a spot I had plans for. No problem, I'll let him plant it then send a suitable troop combo to take it off him. Same goes for Dreylin's border cities. Currently Roading towards these 3 flashpoints. Banked 96g in the last turn of the Golden Age.

Thinking out loud here & doing some number-crunching. What to attack these cities with?

City 1: Defended by Axe (+10%) & Spear (+10%) - Axe has additional 15% fortify bonus

City 2: Defended by Axe (+10%) & Spear (+10%) - Axe has additional 25% fortify bonus & there's hill defense of 25%

City 3: Defended by Axe (+10%) & Spear - Axe has additional 25% fortify bonus

In open ground Dog Soldier (8) would struggle take the Axe (8.25) in a city it's near impossible; however would stomp on Spear anywhere. So that leaves Chariots (8.8) which would kill Axe (8 max), but Spear will defend & kill it first; so, how many Chariots (+10%) do I need to take each city? Is 3 the magic number?
