They have +1 to hit though. An elves are already one of the best races. 25/30 MP is not possible, it's either 20 or 40 or caster hero. There was a time when I gave them Magic Immunity but it was overpowered and had to be removed.
If anything, these would be ideal for Quick Casting but I'm not happy with the idea of making that ability more common.

I've literally never had this happen before (I rarely ever get alliances at all, let alone without a wizard pact) so I thought I'd mention this is the first big thing I've seen with the new diplomacy.


Chaotic can do that, ignoring everything and offering an alliance for no reason.

I'm really a fan of Quick Casting, though, and putting it on High Elves totally makes sense too. Why not give it a try and see how people like it?

Also, I understand your concern about creating near-infinite movement magical road attacks, but can't that be solved by boosting the casting cost? Like, if the casting cost was 40 mana per tile, wouldn't that be a non-problem?

40 mana is still low enough to cast multple times a turn if needed to let that doomstack reach a target faster.
In typical situations you only need 1 extra move to reach a city (4 distance form the previous one you razed, and heroes or other units moving 3), sometimes 2.
To be honest, even 100 is too low but at least then a lot of roads appear which might also let the AI reach your stack with something unexpectedly.

Yeah, I know about the +1 to hit, extra resistance too, but Longbows have +2 to hit and 6 figures. Quick Casting or 40mp for HEM is definitely too much, especially since it only uses 2 moves per cast now, right? You could make them Quick Casting but then drop them to 2 moves, like Troll Magicians, to make them something special for a Logistics Hero, but then you're not gonna get a lot outta Quick Casting with just 20mp anyways. Oh well, just a thought, not a big deal.

Not a bad idea of allowing high elves to have 'quick casting', the benefit is not too great given they only get to use 20mana (it allows for 2 webs, but casting 'petrify' might be better anyways)

However, high elf magicians are already quite good with their +1 to hit regardless of range. A 'quick casting' bonus should go with a +10-25 unit cost increase

Any idea why this is happening? In the meantime I'd like to give 3.04 a whirl since I'm enjoying it more than the original game. Could you attach it to this thread so I can download it? Thanks!

3 out of 68 pretty much sounds like a false positive to me. Probably some paranoid idiot though "hey you can download exe files here that's unsafe" or something. Or it's because it's a mod, virus companies love to categorize stuff that violates copyright laws are viruses for no actual reason.
All I can say, use a less paranoid browser or override the block?
btw I read what "Mal/HTMLGen-A" is and it basically means some random company categorized the site unsafe, it's not even a codename for an actual malware. And I see a lot of people complain about it on their sites.

Edit : If I understand what I see right, apparently the contents of the mugen RC folder are triggering it...and those files have not been changed in the past 3 or so years and contain no executables...
...also says "outdated wordpress version found" it can be that, can it? I have auto upgrades on, outdated by what, 3 days?
heh, said website analyzer now wants $199 to "clean" my site. I see where this is going and who is the shady one here...

...I deleted that folder and now it says the CoM one is bad. I think it's not the contents, it just automatically categorizes any folder that doesn't have an index.html file and offers direct file downloads as malware. Can't do much about this, it might not look nice but it's a perfectly safe way to offer files for download, and the only one I know that doesn't require any extra work on my side other than uploading the files.

Ah yes we have Sophos installed, so I'll have to see how to bypass that. It's good to know there's nothing to worry about.
