Caster of Magic Release thread : latest version 6.06!

I don't have permissions to turn off Sophos unfortunately. Could you attach 3.04 to a message here so I can download it? Sorry for the inconvenience.

3.1 is up for download!
Important : save files from previous versions are not compatible!

Quote:3.1
-Fixed amount of gold displayed for Prosperity being sometimes wrong
-Trade bonus on Marketplace now appears in the road/river trade bonus line instead of the marketplace line.
-Rearranged lines in gold income view : Sources of income (taxes, mines, marketplace) are first, percentage bonuses that apply to all the above are next (road/river trade, bank, merchant's, prosperity), Trade goods are last because they aren't affected by the percentage bonus.
-Completely remade the Outpost Growth procedure. Outposts now grow by units of 1 population until reaching 1000: each house displayed represents 100 population (rounded). Growth is no longer random.
-Outpost Growth formula : (Max Pop+10)*2*(100+RaceModifier+12*AIDifficulty if AI player)/100 people per turn, but a minimum of 30 for AI players.
RaceModifier is a number between -33 and +50, defaulting to 0, except for the following races:
Dark Elf : -33
Troll : -20
Draconian : -10
High Men : +10
Orcs : +20
Barbarians : +30
Halflings : +40
Lizardmen : +50.
-Outpost Shrinking formula : (12-Max Pop) % chance to shrink by 240 people every turn. Various city curses add chance of shrinking :
Evil Presence : +7%
Chaos Rift : +12%
Famine : +15%
Pestilence : +25%
-Stream of Life now doubles population growth on outposts (no effect on shrinking)
-Gaia's Blessing now adds 40 population growth on outposts (no effect on shrinking)
-Historian Graph now shows more fine grained information, stored as a word value (0-65536) instead of byte (0-255).
-Historian Graph now zooms in/out as needed to always show the strongest player at the top of the graph instead of having a lot of unused space at the top. (Also, it displays 12 years at a time now instead of 24)
-Astrologer Magic Power bar length is now doubled - A full bar now represents 800+ power income instead of 1600+. Magic Power weight in historian is also doubled.
Note that save files from older versions are not compatible : historian and outpost data will be messed up.
-Wave of Despair now costs 66 and does a strength 222 attack.
-Cathedrals now cost 420 instead of 450.
-Amplifying Towers now cost 900 instead of 800.

aww crap haven't played this game for months and just today decided to try it and downloaded 3.0.4.

anyway have two major bugs to report with 3.0.4:
1) there is a diplomacy flaw/bug I encountered. A sorcery wizard(aggressive-militarist) was spamming like crazy nagas and attacking me on sight and flooding my lands. From his island to mine. It did not attack cities right away, but was following and hunting my units on my territory. It reacted like we were in war, but we were not. He attacked me 4-5 times and then I attacked one of his units and it was like I declared war. So pretty stupid situation. Not sure if it was before turn 40 but it was quite early. Other wizard I met acted normally.

2) confusion seems to steal my heroes. If an opponent casts confusion on any of my heroes I never gain back control. And ultimately after battle they are missing. In some of the turns where I supposedly should have control(I think) if I right click to select the hero it moves(randomly?) and has 0 moves. So basically I lose the hero on confusion.

Sorry if the bugs have been reported, but my last bookmark was at 70ish page of this thread, so I'm out of sync.

I believe the gold display issue with marketplace affects Bank and Merchant Guild the same way.

1. There is a variable for AI players called "Hostility". If it's enabled, they can attack or cast hostile spells. War is trivially enabling it, but it can also get enabled at random for sneak attacks, and is automatically enabled if you attack any of their units (even if you don't kill it). War and sneak attacks can't happen before turn 37-40, but counterattacking can - it only takes a misclick on their magic spirit to trigger it. Nonwar hostility is usually lower intensity but not always. To turn hostility off, you can either threaten the wizard if you have enough forces to do so, or wait - hostility is re-rolled once every 15-25 turns if it's not a war. (or was it 25-40?)
2. Works as intended, Confusion kills the unit after battle like all control changing spells - you have to dispel it if you want to keep the hero.

Could someone please attach 3.1 to a message here? It's ridiculous, I can't access the download site with any of my home or work computers! Also could the title of this thread be corrected from "lastest" to "latest"? Thanks!

Work I can understand but at home you can uninstall the blocking app? I mean, it's blocking sites without evidence, why would you want to use something that low quality?

o_O Amazing, this thread is over a year old and no one noticed that typo.

At home I try to connect to your site and get timeout errors no matter which computer or browser I use, so it is a different issue. Perhaps it is an issue with my ISP. If you could post 3.1 here I'd appreciate, unless you're planning on coming out with an update soon, in which case I can wait.

I noticed the typo but it seemed too trivial to bother with. But I guess it's bugged me for so long now I thought I'd finally mention it. Thanks for fixing it.

That sounds like a temporal issue...unless your router or ISP somehow uses the same blacklist as that antivirus.
I always plan to come out with a new version, don't think it ever took more than 2 weeks for one wink

Meanwhile, here, could you file one of these complaints to Sophos? https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/support...pport.aspx
Since you're the one using the software I believe it's better if you do it. (click "submit a sample" and then "web address" and explain you're getting a false positive)
