Is that a legal clue? I thought hyphenations weren't allowed.

Vlaada Chvatil Wrote:English has three ways to write a compound word. Greenhouse is one word. Pack rat is two words. Mother-in-law is hyphenated. Technically, only greenhouse can be a one-word clue.
You can decide to allow any compound words. However, in no case should a player be allowed to invent compound words.

That's a good point, pjabrony. I'm not aware of us having any agreement on allowing compound words, and I don't have any strong feelings on whether we should allow hyphenated words in general. (If anyone does, we should discuss it in the rules thread.)
For the purposes of this specific clue, though, I will rule it as valid.

I'm not sure that I like MINT, that could be one of those too-clever-by-half clues. But I also don't see anything that's better.

Is it though? We all agree there's a reason why we were clued this particular game, right? And it's a 3 clue, so considering the the name of the mint is verbatim (at least I think) contained within the name, isn't it pretty on point? If I saw another word referencing a grid, or X's, or O's, or ties, or Wargames I'd be less confident, but I don't see anything...

I like MINT better than any of the other choices.
