All I see at a glance is the nickname of Monterey JACK, a MOUSE from the ~'80s Disney cartoon "Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers. I mean, I guess he also had a TAIL, but that seems silly.

There's surely a Civ connection, but I see nothing that screams Montezuma at me. Maybe a KNIGHT rush, but that seems tenuous at best. He's certainly mercurial, but that's likewise too far a leap to MERCURY.

Ugh, not really sure. Knight probably because of the civ connection, but besides that?

My thoughts were around full monty, monty python and that ww2 general whose surname I forgot. Can't see any words linking them though

Knight (and Sir ROBIN) also connects to Monty Python, for what it's worth, as they're probably most famous for the "Holy Grail" movie.  I also thought of Monty Burns (from The Simpsons) but found no connection.  Remote, but possible:  The Monty Haul Problem refers to a gameshow and prizes, but the heart of the "problem" is that you double your odds of winning if you SWITCH doors after a losing door is revealed.

I would say if Jack is intended then Mouse must be too. So maybe Jack -> Mouse -> Knight?

I think DP is like a high school-aged kid in Australia, so I'm not sure he knows about American cartoons from the 80's, but it's not like I have any better suggestions, so:

Point to:

Jack

Mouse

Knight
