Stream of Life

all cities streamed
then taxes maxed.

well,i'm still noob but isn't this overpowered?

(autoproducing mana races as Elves and Alchemy retort work greatly)

By the time you have the research and skill to put Stream of Life on all your cities, tax revenue isn't generally a major issue. You're usually better off spending your casting skill on something else.

It sure is. Especially if you get 11 books and start the game with the spell.

i'm not sure i have understood: i mean, when streamed every cities and maxed taxes u get lot of money in few turns, and u can lower mana production at 0 and put the rest of power into reasearch and spell skills.
so u get lot of money and lot of mana with alchemy, alchemist retort helps greatly
almost "unlimited"
and also u split your power into 2 instead of 3

sorry 4 my very poor english

thank you!
there is somewhere some list where read how many spells you get for the spellebooks u pick (or gain in game)?
for example:
if i have got 7 life spellbooks, how many spells i can research for common, uncommon, rare and very rare?
i have read spellbooks on fandom wikia but it doesn't specify i suppose.

thank you

Really the only downside of starting with 11W and SoL is that the lack of book diversity is going to restrict your maximum number of spells known at the end of the game. You need to micromanage a bit, but this combo is immensely powerful from almost every point of view, not least the rapid growth your cities get.

But then, there are a number of other 11-book broken cheese approaches too -- 11B + Wraiths can take over the entire map in record time, for a start.

Yaknow, kind of the whole point of Master of Magic is finding broken combos that win the game. Then, you start another game and try to find something else. The game is full of them. It's a ton of fun! Just remember the object is to win, not build some kind of Civ-style empire and play the same game for 40 hours.

Stream of Life is good, and it allows truly amazing cities with all the other city buffs Life offers at the high end...
but I am a bigger fan of Gaia's Blessing:

- raises population cap, so often benefits population growth more than SoL (2*0=0...)
- can emulate "no unrest" by feeding a large garrison
- gets rid of bad terrain, so better for marginal cities
- less upkeep, so pays for itself more quickly on marginal cities

SoL has a higher upside for well-situated cities run at the highest possible tax rate... but this creates problems in one's less strong cities which may not be worth the mana/casting time investment. Gaia's Blessing works better when not going all-out, but is surprisingly competitive when we do.
