Well, we are averaging 2 turns per week or so. I'm disappointed. Civ 5 is a very simple game, it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to play one of these turns... One month ago we had a turn everyday, now it's suddenly a chore for people to play them?
I'm not going to say more, because I don't think it's worth anything. I just wanted to vent my frustration a bit. It's reaching that phase where the joy of playing the turns gets overshadowed by the frustration of opening GMR every day and seeing it's still not your turn.
I wanted to keep strong and see this one game to the end, but yet again I'm feeling like just ending it. I don't think there's a way for this game to go forward, there's no avaiable replacement and forcing people that don't want to play will only end in bad feelings. I'll sleep on it, but I'll probably ask for the game to end tomorrow.

After a night of sleep and after playing the new turn in the morning, I'm a bit more cool headed. Lets keep going and try to make the best of it.

I'm happy to go to AI. I keep having problems with the GMR client and considering the irregular pace, I'm not always quick on noticing the save has gotten to me.
Edit: Dammit. I'm sorry. I hit reply from the link in the main forum thinking it was linking to the tech thread, not your thread. Shut

I'm moving around the newly discovered land on the map, finding city states, clearing barbs and camps, finding huts. One of the huts got one of my cities from size 8 to 9, which is a lot of free food.
I started growing my cities again and I'm already having happiness problems. I'm going to clear a barb camp for a quick alliance/long friendship with one of the Mercantile CSs (Mercantile CSs give happiness as the CS bonus, so you get some happy faces even without an alliance), which will help a bit (especially if I can manage to maintain the alliance). Also, I started building the Forbidden Palace. I'm at 74 pop points, so I guess that means 7.4 less happy?
Cerimonial Burial is giving me 5 happy points right now, and I have 1 happiness from a Mosque. Mosques cost 200 faith right now, and I'm doing about 35 faith per turn.

That's right for the FP (7.4 less anger, and fractional anger doesn't count, so you might actually get 8 more citizens out of it.)

If that is true, you might actually get 9 more citizens out of it, because once you have grown those citizens you will have 82 citizens for 8.2 less anger.

We are back on track and, hopefully, the game can keep a 1-turn per day pace until its end.
Here's an overview where you can see my Citrus boosted WLTKD cities. Cities are still growing pretty quickly, and happiness is hanging pretty close to the limit, as usual. I actually like the global happiness mechanic, but I wish there was more happiness avaiable in the game. The expected number of cities/population in a normal game is too low to my liking. Maybe change luxuries to 6 happy faces or something.
I switched places with the AI: the city state captured the barb camp that had captured my worker, stealing my worker from me. What a mess... At least I have another worker in the city already and the camp wasn't a mission one. You can also see Gordium, which is really pulling some work already. Not sure what to do with it, my urge is to get a lot of infra and make a nice city, but the most useful approach is likely to get more ships built... We'll see.
I met the last city state in the map, another Mercantile one, as expected (I had a CS quest to get a Mercantile resource that I hadn't found yet, so I knew the last CS was of that type). Hopefully I can friend it soon enough, for the happy benefits.
I peaced out with the now converted to AI Rome. I won't pillage or farm the AI for XP, so I figure I deserve to get peace and not get bothered by random units walking into my territory. Same thing I'm doing with Russia. By the way, the Russia AI has had a settler for about 20 turns, walking from one side to the other of their lands, not knowing waht to do. I'd be happy if they settle it, seeing as it's be a new city for religious conversion.
Finally, since I haven't said anything about it yet, I have to say to Chumchu that I noticed that the Natural Wonders in the game are placed in terrain that match their real-world places. Africa, Japan and Australia.

It's nice when someone notices your work. You wanted a natural looking map, so naturally, the natural wonders needs their native terrain around them =9. I thought of it as another bonus to exploration.
I think Australia turned out best in its shape.

Second religious building. Pasargadae is a very good city, but its development was a little hindered due to a long time in high hammer configurations to get Chichen Itza and Machu Pichu. It's my only elegible city for a Observatory.
You can also notice the 4h mines, since I completed Chemistry last turn. Speaking about techs, here's my current tech choices.
The idea here is to get to the next round of science buildings. Prioritizing science, I'm hoping to be the first to the industrial tier of water units by a big margin, which will certainly win me the game (even though I think the Renaissance ones might be all I need). To get there, I'm going to get first the passive bonuses from Economics.
I'm building Alhambra because the MP guides I've seen around the internet said that it is one of the top tier wonders. That's because it's the only way you can get a unit to reach the Blitz promotion straight from the production queue and that means Paratroopers that can attack after landing, which is supposedly an incredible military advantage. That seems way more relevant in games where there are more Civs and the later eras are still competitive between multiple civs (especially in a scenario of a Tradition empire versus a Liberty one, I'd say), which is not really the case here (it seems to me that most real time MP games reach that point). But I'm interested to see if I can make it work, just for the amusement factor.
I'm sure T-Hawk is very jealous of my Petra city, which is boosting 4 tiles!
