I think galleys are a low risk for the reward of sniping the capital without having to slog through the rest of archduke's cities first. Especially if he's right that the capital is the only city with any production.

And sullla has been tracking techs so he may have a good idea if it's a risk at all (anyone looked at his spreadsheet recently?). And he has five 3-movers in the water, so they won't be exposed for long and he can afford to lose one or two. (Actually, do gg movement points apply to embarked units?)

And I'm looking forward to that.

So will Sullla manage to pull a Whosit with his war declaration?

I don't think he even has an RoP with Archduke.

Judging from the 'activity' of Yuris and Archduke's logs, they have more or less given up on the game. Quite disappointing.

And I feel, there is some hinting of strategy in Sullla's thread, which I think is unnecessary. He doesn't need more help.

Yeah, apparently they do, but only to some units (and not themselves). But it seems Sullla is planning on concentration first, not hitting as soon as he can. (Though to my Civ 4 eyes it looks strange with the embarked unit and galleys one tile off the coast.)

Thearchduke really seems very oblivious to what happens in the game.

This game is just reinforcing to me how strong unit movement buffs are in both Civ5/Civ6.

If getting a GG didn't require such deliberate planning, and wasn't completely telegraphed to other players, I would say it's overpowered. As it stands though, GG's are a fantastic force multiplier, but one your opponents can see coming for eons.

If there are future Civ6 MP games, I expect to see GG's hotly contested.

Also, as someone who has been checked out of Civ6 for awhile, but is still interested in the possibility of MP, have we gotten a map editor yet?

Map editor still not functioning properly (a malfunction holdover from Civ5 is accessible via debug tools).

Can there be much of a contest for generals, given that their aura ability is identical and costs are the same for all persons of that era?

Some require more points than others though, right?
