I tried applying manually the new patches that are included in RC4 ( that is W606, W607, W608, W609, W610, W611) to RC3 one by one and I have determined that W610 is the one that causes the problem, at least that's what I think.

Edit Reason: I probably found the solution...

I have a problem with applying the patch. When I add the patch either to v1.31 or v1.40, the demo, start screen and options for setting up a new game looks fine, but when the new game is started, the whole map is black. The capital is not visible nor the initial units. When I click an arrow, the city and units appears, but my units seems to have ability to perform an endless movement. They can also move over sea squares. Moreover, units do note move to the selected location in a predictable way. For example, when I select an adjecent square, they move in the opposite direction and make a journey around the whole world to reach the selected area. Have anyone encountered such a problem?
I run MoM in DosBox v.074 under 64-bit Linux. I just copy patch files (whole contents of archive) to the game folder. Is i proper way of patching the game?
EDIT:
It can be case-sensitivity error. I just found two files: wizards.exe and WIZARDS.EXE. There can be more of it. I believe I should capitalize all files or patch the game under DOSBOX.

1.51 RC4 was buggy. Try RC5.
Yes, you only need to overwrite the files.

Or that can be an answer?

Yes that can be a problem, make sure you actually overwrite the file regardless of case.

Yes, that was the reason and patching under DOSXBOX is probably the fastest way for solving this problem in Linux/Mac/Unix.
Thanks for creating such a good patch. I haven't tried it yet but after reading about Diplomacy and AI improvements I believe it will be great.
I use 1.50 final. I will check the 1.51RC5 later, but a great starting location was randomized (quarks on Arcanum) so I will start with 1.50.

I can already tell that someone is going to call me an idiot and say that I wasn't looking in the right place, but...
...how do I apply any of the optional patches?
From what I can see they look like Hex addresses.
Is there a recommended Hex editor?
What file do I edit (a couple of them mention it, most don't)
How does the format of the hex addresses in the optional patches correspond to what I see/should do in the Hex editor?
I'm sure there's a guide or something on here but can someone point me to it?

There should be a fileset.exe included (if not, it's there in the CoM release).
use Fileset wizards.exe <patchfilename> to do it (or magic.exe for M patches)

Thank you so much Seravy.
Did I miss this in a readme somewhere?

Yes, it is in the readme.txt that comes with it.
