No problem. I had said that it might take me all weekend to play and report - in the end my timetable was smoother than expected. Can't say the same for the turns! The assassination was just the usual MOO evil, but the erratic war dec on the very last turn made things truly special...

Good luck, Ianus! Hopefully we can get past this council vote, which should give us time to deal with the bears and shifters and stabilize our position.

By the way, shallow_thought: is your custom title supposed to say "Still lea*r*ning old games"?

Of course. Fortunately the forum software will wipe out all trace of my incompetence. If only that were true of all things...

I had wondered about that. You could always change it to "Still learning ODD games" and still be correct.

No worries, Ianus; just wanted to make sure the roster and save didn't get lost amid the discussion! Good luck with the turns!

A couple of things:
First of all, GOT IT!
Second of all, what on Mentar happened here?! There are enemy fleets flying all over the place, the Bulrathi planets seem to mostly have new owners that aren't us, and we are at war with EVERYONE, including the Silicoids unless that Sakkra fleet at Talas can shoot down our incoming 10 transports. Well as those old broadcast transmissions from Sol like to say: "This is another fine mess you've gotten me into!"
A quick look at our enemies tells me that the Sakkra will be good targets for aggression whenever we get around to offensive war again. I hope to make that a priority during my turns once I figure out what is going on and how to clean it up. A stretch goal will be to survive the upcoming council vote at the end of my turnset. While no one AI race is particularly scary, much like Voltron they will combine into a terrifying collective if we find ourselves in Final War. So I'd better do something about that...
More to come...

Good luck, Ianus!
I was wondering about the Klackons and the council vote, since we have not met them. They are allied with the Sakkra who are at war with us, but since we have not met I don't think we are at war with the bugs? So maybe they will abstain or vote for us, if they do not like the rocks. That might be enough to get us past the council vote.
How are our worlds doing for factories? I don't think we ever maxes out all our worlds after the last IRC tech, which is a problem since our new worlds are paying the higher factory costs without us getting the benefit of more production in our core worlds. We really need a few turns to consolidate our position, but that does not seem to be very likely to happen.

I taunted Happy Fun Fate . Although I can't blame sending 10 million poor colonists into the middle of a four-way war zone on the RNG. That one was all me . Although it must have taken some luck for the Silicoids to sneak a colship through the Bulrathi, Sakkra and Darlok fleets, not to mention occasional Psilon cruisers.

Do not taunt Happy Fun Fate.
Hopefully we can scrape past this council vote. I think our situation will be a lot stronger 25 turns from now, if we do not face a final war immediately of course.
