Singaboy´s mounting losses are starting to show. No unit was killed on the interturn by him.
I got the turn a bit late, I will need to head to work and try to do it in 2-3 hours.
City bombardment makes miniscule damage, about 4-6 damage I guess. Next turn both swordsman and the newly promoted Knight will be in striking range. Nicely enough Singaboy divides up his forces between the two cities.

Advancing on Aachen with the intent on bombarding the city reveals yet another musketman probably upgraded with foreign gold.
We are better of immeaditly killing it, even if another time, we risk a crossbowmen getting killed.
Our Knight is promoted.
The end of the raiding at Pylos, I couldn´t prevent a plunder on the mine, but we need the crossbowmen on the east front.
Tally:
Losses: 1 Knight, 1 Horseman
Kills: 2 Knights, 2 Horseman, 2 Crossbowmen, 2 Musketman, 1 Spearman
In retrospect, even if it hurt, a retreat to Ulm would have been smarter after a delaying action at Aachen. Singaboy has spent much of his offensive capability.
Next turn we should be able to hit Aachen with 1 Horse, 1 Knight, 2 Swordsman and soften it up with 4 crossbow shots, severly wounding it, probably not taking it.
But who knows what else might be hiding in the shadows.

Impressive! Is this the effect of the GGs, or are you simply using better tactics?

The GGs make for a brutal combination and problemtically Singaboy seems to underestimate them.
The terrain itself is bad for defense purposes, and Oledavy has used the hills masterfully for his defense. Every single bonus counts, for instance Preslavs hill bonus makes attacking units on those a dangerous affair.
I am still owing myself and the audience a more in depth analysis of how these wars are fought and what makes them tick.
The excellent news however, bottlenecks, rivers, hills and forests are of immense importance.
For instance Singaboys Knight who was on the hill next to Aachen, difficult to crack. Fortification and Preslav negates the double GGs there.
Tactics wise it seems my decision to be very cautious about exposures of units seem to be paying off. Notice how the momentum shifted with every exposed unit, may it be Oledavy, Singaboy or me. For instance in the first Battle of Frankfurt, why not retreat the sword into the city. One can also not understate the importance of city walls, without them cities will be blitzed and badly so.

2 crossbowmen of mine die on the interturn, which was about to be expected. But Singaboy offers me his knight and crossbowmen in return, which I take.
Next turn we attack with our melee and probably yellowline the city, I can´t afford to loose the swordsman too quickly.

Bloodbath. That's what, something like a dozen units destroyed over the course of this war?
When does the DoF with Oledavy run out? What are your cities building?

Only units, 8 more turns, I will recheck later.
Yeah, the losses especially of Singaboy are staggering. Do mind though he declared that war.

What is grating that I can not risk an attack on the city even this turn. With 3 knights I might have. Not sure if I can storm Aachen at all.

So what are your war aims here?

As Singaboy dowed me, first survival, secondly Frankfurt 2 and as he continues to throw away units and cost me time, Aaachen.
