I`ve read up on the micro plan, it really looks solid.
Building a galley on the western sea is a great idea! It gives us a head start on scouting the islands and makes colonizing them a bit easier.
The settler going south of Toregene probably needs a military escort as it`s not too far away from Joey`s front city. If he builds a road on the corn and takes the second half of the timer he could threaten our new city quickly. We could move the spear down from Toregene. It`ll give us some protection but an axe will be needed soon after. The spear is able to join the worker on the jungle horses I think. The worst case scenario for us would be the barb warrior going straight for our furs. That could delay our plans a bit. That`s however, very unlikely.
We might want to move the city spot in the NW from the horses to the plains next to it. I guess we`ll find out in the next couple of turns. The clams up there might be contested by dtay (I hope they`re not).
Agreed. Note if the Axe completing at Muqa on T70 leaves immediately, it could be in the city of Nambui the turn after the city is founded.
If the barb goes to the river plains tile next turn, we could take measures to ensure it doesn't disrupt anything:
- Move Toregene's Warrior to the Furs, trusting the 99.1% chance that the spear wouldn't die to the barb if it attacks the city (the Warrior on the furs would have worse-though-still-excellent odds, but even if it lost, the Spearman could easily clean it up) OR
- Move the Spear slated for Oghul Qaimish NE-SE to the hill (that we'll be mining next turn) instead so that in case the barb does move to the furs, we'll have multiple attacks available with odds in our favor (though not as much in our favor as we'd like) OR
- No measures; just assume the barb is aiming to attack and not pillage.
Alternatively though, if you have a chance to log in before Ventessel rolls the turn want to be (more) sure, it's not bad to whip the Spear a turn early (i.e. this turn - T67). That would basically trade one food and two coins for one hammer and the chance to use the Spearman a turn sooner. (Toregene would still put the overflow into a Worker, starting one turn sooner, and work the same tiles and have the same builds thereafter for the duration of the posted plan, except that this turn it won't work the lake.) Then if the barb moved to the river plains tile, the spear could take those 99.1% odds on the attack, with the Warrior still in the city.

I don`t like allowing the barb to take a 0.9 % shot at Toregene. Losing the furs is only a small nuisance in comparison to losing an established size 4 city. We could whip the spear a turn early but I think moving the spear between Borte and Oghul Quaimish closer to the barb warrior to act as back up is a good option here. Btw: Is whipping again close to the end of the timer (long after we ended turn) okay?

Also for the note barbs dont raze cities unless they are size of 1 and get autorazed.
Okay, that makes the barbarians a bit less scary. +25 % defense helps quite a bit. I`ll keep that in mind for later. If the barbs don`t auto raze the city they capture it might be possible to recapture it quickly. It`s still not good but a lot better than having to build another settler.
I went ahead and whipped the spear. It`s not costing us a lot and having more flexibility is good.
The barb warrior did indeed move across the river, setting its sight on the furs. Just because he could. So our new produced spear had 99.1 % odds and..
A flawless win! 2XP is a nice bonus. I`m glad we whipped the spear after all.
The event log told us that a great general has been born somewhere (actually it was last turn, after I played). Joey has now got a CG 1, Drill 1 archer in his front city. It won`t be cheap to conquer. Well, we have a nice axe/spear combo in Oghul Qaimish as well. The border looks stable for the time being.
Our chariot didn`t reveal anything exciting up in the NW but our warrior found a stone on an island! It`s on desert so it`s not fantastic tile but still very good news. I`ll have a look at the dot map once our chariot finishes the exploration of the NW area next turn.
Great stuff! That was absolutely the best possible outcome with that barb, and it should mean we can safely escort the worker all the way down to Nambui. Note this was another case where I belatedly came around to realizing a plan you suggested earlier (in this case to whip a spear out quickly to deal with that barb) was the best call.
Those graphs look so good, it's almost frightening. In fact it would be frightening ... except that one of them represents military power!
I caught an error or two in my microplan above relating to Oghul Qaimish. If there's time, I'd suggest switching its build to a Work Boat this turn to collect overflow from the Granary: We'll still complete the Galley at the same time, but we'll start it later, and get the fish a turn sooner. [EDIT: I edited the microplan above to reflect this; if we don't end up changing Oghul Qaimish's build this turn though, I'll change it again to reflect that while correcting the errors in the original.]

I logged in to change the build in Oghul Qaimish as free food is always good.
The chariot which is about to finish in Borte could possibly board the galley to check out the island with grassland wheat. The galley should be back in Muqa in time to ferry the settler over to one of the islands (probably the one with marble).
