Turn 75 (1000 BC) - Part 2
Our Sentry chariot poking at Coeurva discovers not one, but two of his chariots barring our way. I take the hint and amscray; the chariot is due to arrive at Castleview on t80. (We could even kill Coeurva's warrior chiling outside Harmondale on the way without even losing time.)
Gem continues north and finds another one of JR4's cities:
That tile west of the banana wouldn't be controlled by Muqa. We still don't actually have vision into any of JR4's cities.
No contact with JR4's neighbor yet, either.

Hmm.
I wonder if it will be worth it to declare war on GermanJoey just so Sandro can step on his forests. Well, Sandro won't be position until t77.
I should have thought of this earlier; oh well. Eh, maybe not, then we'd have given away that we are suddenly very interested in his chopping. Sandro will just look like he's scouting.
edit: Wait, if I block a forest on t77, that's too late to make any difference.

Turn 75 (1000 BC) - Part 3
Gavagai played his turn as I was writing this. He moved another archer into Ankara.
He already has almost enough defense there to repel a chariot attack, even though he doesn't even have a spear there. If he saw our power spiking hard, he'd get a spear there in time.
An attack on him only would have worked if we hadn't invested so much into the Great Lighthouse.
I suppose that's a relief to know.

Turn 75 (1000 BC) - Part 4
Domestic update:
Wait, a galley is only 50 hammers? Why did I think it was 80? Well, we can't actually use a galley so soon, and Harmondale can still finish a galley in time, so Harmondale is producing a spear with the 2-pop-whip overflow. The orange dot settler it just produced is on its way west.
Castle Ironfist completes a spear, headed south. Not north; Castleview is going to whip a spear next turn. Castle Ironfist is now going to produce an axe in 2 turns, meant for Castleview, since I'd like a potential shock axe there.
Garrote Gorge reaches size 2. I can actually whip the granary there before it reaches size 3, but that would waste enough that I'll wait until it hits size 3.
Red dot to plant next turn.

I'm projecting GermanJoey to complete the Great Lighthouse on either t80 or t81.
We're on schedule to finish it on t80.

Turn 75 (1000 BC) - Part 5 (C&D)
Score tally. I'm also losing track of what CML and dtay are doing, which is another motivation for contacting them. - Us: +2 points for +1 pop in Garrote Gorge (20 pop total); +6 points for researching Masonry.
- CML: +6 points for +4 land tiles held for 20 turns by the expansion of his city with Stonehenge (tentative). t77 edit: now believed to be +1 pop, +3 land.
- dtay: I don't really know, but my best guess is: +6 points for +5 land tiles held for 20 turns; +6 for an Ancient era technology; +2 points for planting city #6 (claims at most 1 new tile); -2 point for a -1 pop whip (21 pop total). t77 edit: now believed to be +12 points for Iron Working.
- Gavagai: +3 points for +1 pop in Istanbul (19 pop total).
- GermanJoey: +5 points for +1 pop in State of Zijin and +1 pop in Yellow Maple (20 pop total).
- JR4: +3 points for +1 pop; -8 points for a -3 pop whip (22 pop total). I'm pretty sure that's not the Great Lighthouse, because I think JR4 has 12 technologies none of which are Masonry, but I'm not 100% sure.
- Krill: +3 points for +1 pop in Animal Farm; -3 points for a -1 pop whip in Wigan Pier (15 pop total).
dtay is doing just fine. Concern that CML will soon be a tasty snack continues.
Also of some concern is the current power report:
Yeah, that's a nontrivial increase from Gavagai.
Krill just put 4 EP into us last turn, so I put 3 EP into him the coming turn to defend our graphs against him. We'll get graphs on GermanJoey eventually, and can get back graphs on Ventessel if we want them. JR4 is continuing to put 4 EP/turn into us turn; nothing I can do about that, especially because not that long from now I'll have to defend our graphs on Gavagai.
I never realized juggling the palace's 4 EP/turn would be such a concern.

That's what I used to say about you attacking Gavagai!
Also, I can't see a lighthouse in that pic of Castleview either.

Well, we have a good shot, it seems.

Welcome to MP. You did meet a lot of players early, which makes it more difficult.

Speaking of "welcome to MP", I do have the constant feeling ever since about t40 that catastrophe is lurking just around the corner, but without me being able to rationally identify an actual credible threat of catastrophe.
I suppose that's normal for MP.

Speaking of power spikes, check this out:
We happen to have the third-highest power in the world (even though a lot of it is barracks), and we also happen to be next to the two rivals who have the higher ratings.
