I will likely give some encouraging comments, although I am spoilered from the other threads and will thus not comment on any decisions.
That said, I like your approach going more into the thought process with your reporting, I believe that helps identiying flaws oneself while explaining them.

Civilization VI PBEM can be cruel sometimes.
As I ended this turn I got the sound bump for "contact", a CS or a player, who knows? I hope/assume another CS. I do not see a read tile which could give a city location away, so I am holding my breath. But it beats hearing wardrums, as my main worry is a barbarian horseman showing up and my worker idling for 4 turns until I can pop out another unit.
There are two more developments this turn. As I find 2 tasty coppers this turn and my dotmap information keeps expanding, I will probably relocated my plainshills city 1W to get the tasty, tasty copper into my 1st and 2nd ring as CS do not really appreciate those ressources and copper is a nice bonus income.
My capital tile picker indeed plucks the sugar (I often saw it switch targets at the last second) which is okay, as I can now grow pop 3 in 4 turns and not 11 and the lost production is easily replaced by Carthage. Especially in the early game a military city state is like a permanent +2 production boost as your capital is your main source of scout and most likely your first 1-2 settlers. I can not really complain about CS this time around, which is nice, but excuses on my end will only ring more hollow at the end.
The tile picker annoys me as once again he does not want to pick the cows or wheat, but the fish. A definite subpar tile, so the inspiration for Craftmanship will be an issue, I need to think if I want to waste some precious early monies on rectifying this or not.
Here is hoping for a 2nd tasty CS, or a 2nd tasty CS target.
Everyone seems to have popped to pop 2 this turn.

Hmm, I am getting old, I could have sworn I heard the contact notification.
Not much time, plan is to quarry the hill, move onto the forest, chop it and push out the slinger and then the settler quickly.

After 1-2 sleepless night I am back in action. Everything is going along smoothly so far.
Singaboy seems to have a good intial roll of luck. He managed to snatch 1 civic before everyone else, and as I have only my capital at size 3 and no cultural boosts so far, I doubt anyone else has met a cultural CS so far, which is nice.
First of all the last three turns.
Turn 11:
We build a quarry and scout on.
Turn 12:
More scouting, Singaboy jumps ahead of the pack again.
Turn 13:
Barbarians are encountered to the NW! of Bohemian Rhapsody. Which is good, as right now we could not clear it and can quickly settle the SW of our penninsula/island.

The slinger finishes and I have a rather long debate with myself if I am going to harvest the forest or not. I decide that 2 turns will make things a bit quicker, and that if I want a civic soon it is not craftsmanship but Foreign Trade for the boost to ship production.
For now my plan is to settle Copper Dot with my warrior escorting, my slinger trying to kill a scout and keep the barbarians at bay.
A 2nd settler will be churned asap with a 2nd worker following it to irrigate the wheat, and to fish boat up the fish and the crab on waterless dot which will be the third city. Then I will try to build 2 galleys for the inspiration and for exploration purposes hopefully eurekaing writing by meeting someone so I can build a campus before or after the harbour.
My dot map has been updated I am unsure about Southcoast Dot for now, I like to chain commercial and harbour and city centres together.
I am curious where that camp is hiding. Hopefully not near the horse, I doubt I can kill that scout before reporting.
Good land is found to the SW, I am starting to get hopeful I am alone on my continent.

Two turns in one report as I am working through sleep deprivation.
In any case:
Turn 15, we switch to predictable civics, we ignored building scouts so God King + Discipline.
Culturewise, it seems only 2 others are slightly behind us, Singaboy seems to have a lot of score compared to the others a bit early, a food heavy start and undisturbed it seems, which does not bode well. I was in a serious war with Germany last time, their production is something to behold and Singaboy has the experience to make maximum use of it. Singaboy is by far my bogeyman for this game by now.
Both Jester and Jasper are places 4 and 5 in culture and science.
Science
Domination
I hope for the three guys behind me, that they have no barbs, I think the slinger was the right choice, especially if you see the growth/production timing of Bohemian Rhapsody, I would loathe to build a settler early and sit scared in my capital. Woden and Singaboy both built a unit.
And I am ashamed to say, I did not notice hidden information in this scouting move turn 15.

Turn 16
The tilepicker seems intent on the cows, thus we research AH and our Worker uses his 4 turns of leisure to explore the pictoresque coast of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Another Dot is uncovered north, our picture begins to sharpen.
And yes, I waste a turn to backtrack my warrior. This forest tile to the W is the only tile we can make contact with the MIL CS in the south, a random walk to this tile.
I am tempted to stay in place so I can scout it before I get ships and use the slinger to protect the settler.
Singaboy has a hefty 15 score to Oledavys, Wodens and my 12. His 2nd tech is 1 turn quicker.

From reporting PBEM #2 and lurking PBEM #3 I decide that I try to do at least 1-2 screenies each turn.
Also more score information. Anything else the lurkers here want to know?
Current mid term plan is 3rd city asap and 2 galleys with maritime industries.
