Spoilers for PBEM 4

Decided to buy the 2F 2C 3G truffles tile so the settler is actually due in 10t. There is another city (or city state) roughly 3 hexes east 1 hex northeast so I'll try to make contact with the scout then head southwest to check out the area around the marsh. The warrior is heading back to spawn bust around the horses. Can't afford for a barb camp to spawn within six tiles of the horses. If this were Immortal/Deity I'd probably cancel the settler and start building slingers. I can get away with a settler first on Prince though. However, I probably need a slinger before getting out a worker.

Turn 10 finished Animal Husbandry and started on Astrology. I was wrong about another city state...fog gazing...work of the devil...and such. Probably put a city on the coast SW of the wheat. Scout headed back and warrior heading south. Barbs incoming. I really hate horses early game.

East of the scout is another freshwater city location, although no immediate production.

Hopefully I can trap and kill the barb scout. We'll see though.

The stone will be in Madrid's borders in 8 turns so I'll research Mining after Astrology. I'm seriously thinking of having Madrid build a slinger/builder/2nd slinger then another settler (for the coastal city site by the natural wonder) after the settler completes. That will delay the holy site but I think getting free culture is probably more important to speed up civic research. I also like that there are two unique luxury resources easily obtainable in that location.

Not sure yet what the next civic will be. The entire area so far has been Antarctica and it is looking like I'll need the scout to help deal with the barbs until I can get out a slinger (so exploration is going to be delayed).

Astrology done. Onwards Mining. Took a whack at the barb and will heal for one turn then whack it again. The scout is going back to escort the settler since I don't know where the barb scout went.

Should be a kill.

It is (thankfully). Yeah, even on Prince, not a good idea to let barb horse units spawn.

I think I can get the worker now, then a slinger. The 2f 2c stone tile will be in borders in two turns and Madrid will work the improved sheep tile, truffles and stone at size 3.

The Archduke founded his second city this turn...and so did I.

I might end up buying a builder so I can chop out the next settler (which will be after at least one slinger). I'll use the builder that is fixing to complete for tile improvements.

A monument should help since I really want that 2f 2c 3g tile asap and I'll need my gold for other uses.

Post patch and now the scores show each corresponding player. Singaboy actually was the other player who founded a city and he even beat me by one turn.

Mining is finished and Pottery next. The next (more expensive) settler is showing 15 turns but a higher pop size (working production) and a chop or two will bring that down. I think I'll gamble and just do one slinger before starting the settler for the natural wonder city site.

Congratulations on being second to your second city. Viva Espana!

Turn 25 - No pics this turn. The finished builder moved to the sheep tile. It will now cost 55 gold to buy the tile for the holy site and 215 gold to buy another builder. I'll have the entire amount in eight turns. I started a slinger (five turn build) and will buy a builder in three turns. Two chops will go into the next settler which will leave one charge left (not sure what I'll use this for yet...maybe a mine).

At the end of turn 24 (last turn), Singaboy and I still are the only two players with two cities.
