My capital is located 10 West and 5 south of the barb camp you can see and Lisbon is located 3 turns of movement for your galley in the direction you are headed and along the coast you are on. Unfortunately for you, I have a city that owns the coastal path that will prevent you from meeting them, so you might need to find another route.

We may be able to work out a deal for you to meet them soon. I propose the following deal:

I will sign open borders with you for:

1. Friendship - so you don't trying anything funny with that galley
2. Promise not to send an envoy to Lisbon until after T51 - don't see this as a problem since you probably won't have PP until around that time.
3. Provide me with a little tribute to show your appreciation for early access to a gold baring CS that you will benefit all game? Say 30 gold? I don't know if there is another route via the ocean but in a couple of turns the route around my island will be blocked.

Let me know what you think. Of coarse you could always declare war but your galley is a long ways from home and who wants to start this budding friendship off on the wrong foot.

My galley has gone south for now - take it as a tangible sign of my interest in having a good relationship. While I am not interested in your deal at present, if my galley cannot find a way to meet Libson to the south, we can revisit this in a few turns.

First off, love the naming theme, I actually used it myself years ago in Civ5 PBEM 2

I have already met your CS. I would, however, like to know where the Germans are and the location of any other city-states you have met thus far. 

I am willing to trade the location of my capital, where Woden is, or the locations of either of the city-states I have met.

I'm willing to set up a written map trade OleDavy, I also have an overall theory on the map design after some scouting, and from what I've been able to piece together from Woden's and your recent posts in this thread.

I'm intrigued. 

You see the marble outside your CS's borders? My capital is 13 tiles west of that. 

Woden is very far away from you. Take my capital, go 15 tiles southwest, and then 18 tiles west. 

I'll trade you locations of CS's on a 1 to 1 basis after you share you and Singaboy's locations.

You technically gave away the CS positions in your posts to Woden but I'll play along:

My capital is located 6 tiles to the south of the Wheat tile in Toronto's second ring, across the large lake there, if you then go 10-15 tiles to the east (no exact count, haven't taken an overview screenshot in a while) you'll bump into Valetta (Militaristic). A few tiles South of Valetta is Singaboys border. My second city is located south of my capital. I don't see Torontos Marble btw, is it on it's northside?

I haven't been able to scout more yet, only discovered Sailing a few turns ago.

My big theory on the map is this:

All of us started alone on a small continent with one city state on it, but to keep it interesting the map maker gave us all a different type of CS. I expect the current science leader to have a science CS on his island and the current culture leader to have a Cultural one, that'd make a neat selection of one of every type of CS (Unknown=Science, Unknown=Culture, Oledavy=Religious, Woden=Commercial, Singaboy=Military, Me=Industrial!) 
It seems like Sullla wants to resolve the debate on which CS it's best to start next to  I've also noticed all our continents have a rough "X" shape to them.

I did give La Venta's location relative to a location you now know (my capital) as opposed to just a location Woden knows (the barb camp).

I wasn't really bargaining with that though. I've met one of the four unmet city-states. I don't a map in front of me right now, but southwest of me and directly east of Woden lies the city of Jerusalem, on what looks like it's own island near the center of the map. Do with that info what you will, and thank you for being forthcoming on your end of things.

I agree on the 'start on our own continents with a CS each' bit. I don't think Archduke and CFCJesterfool have cultural/scientific ones though. Someone having them is too unbalancing, plus there was no cultural/scientific spike that early in the game from either of them. I suspect there may be one or two scientific/cultural city-states, but they are as of yet unmet. 

So yeah, to do a thorough accounting of the confirmed CS's so far, for everyone's benefit: 

OleDavey - Religious, La Venta
Woden - Commercial, Libson
Japper007 - Industrial, Toronto
Singaboy - Militaristic, Valletta. 

Nobody's - Religious, Jerusalem. 

As I final note, this likely makes Singaboy and Woden neighbors via the worldwrap, and means Archduke and CFCJesterfool are likely both in the southern hemisphere.

EDIT: And yes, Toronto has marble 2 NW of the city-center. Apologies, I thought you had eyes on it.
