Keeping track.
The envoy will be useful...eventually. I might need to stop one turn from completion but I won't know until next turn (too lazy to calculate).
Mistake here...saved a total of ZERO gold per turn. I'm not building boats right now so meh.
Don't think I'll shave off two turns from the settler with population growth but we'll see.

Quick turnaround on the turn. Yay baby, yay!
Unbelievably fast border pops. I think I send the next trade route to originate here (back to Cortes). I'll need three charges from a builder to improve the wheat and horse tiles (adding +1 housing) and the cotton (once Irrigation is researched). Once I have Political Philosophy done, I'll switch Cordoba to growth and switch to a granary build. I was one turn short from lining up settler completion with Mysticism so I'll have to switch back next turn, then race to Political Philosophy. Probably need to do a quick Sailing after Currency.

I gained a turn on Mysticism somehow (already one turn from completion) so I changed to a new plan. I'll finish Sailing first then Currency (four turns total so should line up with settler and builder completing). That way I can make sure I'll have enough gold to buy the campus spot for the new city next turn. I'll still finish Mysticism in line with the settler completing but I'll switch to Urban Planning and Maritime Industries as my policy cards. Pizarro (the new city) will then build at least one galley while I wait on Bronze Working before chopping into a campus district. I'll still want a monument at Pizarro eventually, but I'm not sure when I will slot it into the build queue.
Stonehenge still available....madness. I might try for it after the commerce district is completed at Cortes.

Back to back reports. Turn 52.
Two gold per turn and already at war with someone. Probably needed to get through someone's borders. However, I don't think I want to take chances now that I am starting to meet people. Finish Sailing, Currency, then hard research Archery (to one turn from completion) so I can upgrade my slingers if an emergency arises.
Really solid choice. Turtle and race ahead in culture and science.
Two long ships and I lose Cordoba. I really need boats in the water and archers asap. Ponce de Leon has enough production to build city walls in a reasonable amount of time but Cordoba is really vulnerable.

Had to work the stone instead of the horses to get the builder out in time. I'll switch back to growth once the builder is complete. Second to last in score now but I'm not worried. I'll be fine once I get more of a military presence.

T54 - pics didn't take except for one.
Ok filler spot. All about the harbor (+4) although eventually it would have a good campus spot (or holy site if needed).
T55 -
Bang out the district, another trader, one military unit then probably another builder before the next settler. After the next settler, I really need a granary here.
Trade one food for one science.
I had a difficult choice here on what to build here. The choices were city walls (7 turns), campus project (5 turns), library (8 turns), galley (3 turns) or the granary. I decided to go granary first since I have another builder coming here and will be able to chop the grass hill forest. This will also be a pretty good cog city once it grows. I improve the wheat for the eureka to Irrigation next turn. I'll work the wheat once the granary is completed then add cog tiles as I grow.
Fourth city next turn.

I don't need the galley right away but I do want to get to size three asap. At size two I'll switch briefly to cogs to finish the galley.
Districts so far: 3 holy sites (oledavy, Norway, Spain) and 3 campus districts (Singaboy, Woden, Spain).
Singaboy probably has had a fourth city for at least a few turns and might already have five cities. He is playing a great game so far. I still think I am middle of the pack.
The builder at Ponce de Leon will improve the bananas first (+2 gold/+.5 housing) then chop/mine the grass hill forest. Once the granary finishes, Ponce will have a housing cap of eight working the wheat, bananas, unimproved truffles and a grass hill.
Cordoba needs a builder badly but I'll have to wait until the trade route is made.

Research Archery for three turns then evaluate. I'd like to research Bronze Working (six turn technology) to enable rainforest chops so I can start on Pizarro's campus district. I also need to start Ponce de Leon's harbor district relatively soon. I think I'll wait on the eureka for Celestial Navigation but will definitely need to hard research Bronze Working. The barbs are AWOL it seems.
Finally have the horse tile. Farm the wheat and pasture the horse for +1 housing (combined) then build a granary for +2 housing. I need a full builder here after the trader is done. I probably need to have Ponce de Leon help Cortes with builder duty. So many competing priorities and not enough cogs.

Still grow in one turn but get the extra cogs. Glad I was checking.
The builder at Ponce de Leon will be in place to chop the grass hill forest the same turn I can change government. Woden secures the first Great Scientist in three turns. I might want the second one but depending on how long it takes to build a settler (shows 17 turns right now which is unacceptable), I might put the chop into a settler instead.
