[SPOILER] PB37 Dark Savant tries not to be a blatant MP n00b

Okay, GermanJoey sank the three triremes I had running in the disputed zone.  Oh well.

I can't meaningfully attack him right away (not without making galley suicide runs), but I can think about doing so in fewer than 10 turns, so I'm not sure it's worth it to make peace.

Krill's triremes are continuing to progress through my land -- and they're headed in GermanJoey's direction?  Wait, seriously?

I'd build more triremes myself, but they'll be obsolete in ~3 turns.

edit: Also, um, I can build trebuchets now.  Right, I forgot I could do that in this mod.  I'm actually seriously considering that.

Uh.

Can you guess who forgot he could pop borders with artists while in Caste System?

Yeah.

smoke

That's quite a few rather pointless border-expansion buildings I whipped.  Dang.

Anyway -- man, I feel like I'm constantly screwing up here! -- Machinery is in, so at least we've got cool Medieval music to listen to.  cool

Compass is due next turn.  Optics should come in 2 turns after that, and I can start mass producing caravels.

Seriously, what are Krill's triremes doing?

... it's kind of a shame I have no way to tell Krill "I don't have any triremes ... because caravels are coming soon".

You know, maybe it's a smoke move to not build units just because they will shortly become obsolete ... ?

I don't think I'll lose any more cities to GermanJoey -- not unless he shows up with something like knights, and if he had those, I don't think he would be making a peace offer.  So okay, no peace for now.

(... no, I have to worry about Coeurva showing up with knights, don't I.)

Triremes should equally well against galleys as caravels. More importantly, you need numbers.

Well, Coeurva just attacked us -- I re-offered the peace treaty to GermanJoey.  Not that I think he'll accept now.

This looks like it's likely to be fatal -- at this point I'm going to focus more on playing turns quickly so I don't hold up the game.

(he has 1 sword attacking our most outlying city -- ok, not that big a deal, but he has 2 triremes and 4 galleys inbound in the eastern sea as well)

Also I can't quite get Optics in 2 turns, not that I think it matters much now anyway.  Okay, Construction in 1 it is.

Next game, I really need to have someone to tell me to build enough military.  crazyeye

I told you! You are Shaka, do something!
You said that you do not plan wars till classical age.

I want to remind you one of the ideas of Sun Tzi :"want peace? Prepare to the war!"

Yeah, that's clearer in retrospect

Oh well, I knew I'd probably get blasted one way or the other this game.  Only way to learn, really.  smile

I chose Shaka partly so that it would get me out of my "ooh, let's build this" habit.  I suppose that didn't work well enough.
