Air seems obvious.
Scuba Diver too.
Oxygen forms Compounds with lots of chemicals but isn't itself one.
A Mole is a unit of chemical measurement, so you could have a mole of Oxygen.

Scuba - seems most closely to oxygen, prefer 2nd guess

after the first two I go Fan because its closely related with air. The clue can't be air because air is one of the words its clueing so you need something like air or in air to make that connection. Therefore oxygen. But oxygen is tangential to compound and mole. I think Fan is the real 3rd that we would get teasily if the clue was air itself. Rho did you see fan?

After fan I find compound and mole to be distantly related. Oxygen isn't actually a compund. mole is getting pretty deep scientifically.

First choice for three of us so Point to air

Scuba Diver is my next Choice. There was some risk it was red but that seems much reduced. The connection is very strong to me.

The third choice is tricky...

*Fan - Blows air which contains oxygen

*Compound - This was my initial third choice but I don’t like that Oxygen isn’t a compound. Could Azoth just not
think of a compound with an air+scuba connecfion? Even Water could have worked. Do the rules not allow H2O or CO2? This is still probably my lean but I’m nervous...

*Soul - Oxygen is needed for life, wouldn’t be true for Nitrogen or CO2 or the like.

*Mole - I didn’t see this independently but it gives a reason for providing an element versus a compound.

*Theater - Connecfion from the Russian hostage situation a decade ago where they gassed everyone. Weak but included for completeness.

Ok, compound vs fan. Personally, I think that we can't read into oxygen not being a compound here, because picking oxygen as the specific gas in air to choose as the clue was most likely done to clue scuba diver, not to shy away from compound in particular, because no other gas would work. Regardless, I think fan might be more likely regardless.
