"Alternatively negate first strike"
Well, actually, hitting something that small from horseback might be pretty hard to do so that might make sense. But the Halberdiers already have it. And the Orc hordes too.

Obviously no to thrown, that's for berserkers.

The thrown idea was the '1 race per plane'. And dwarves are an early military race, who can't hit fliers except with steam cannons, and who cost 2 picks. Negate first strike is also '1 per plane' on top tier unit.

Figured it had to be mentioned. Happy you've said no.

I'm fine with leaving them without specials. They're undisputed masters of raw stats.

just try something silly, like giving them +4 health and nothiing else.

I'm still of the opinion that dwarves got de facto nerfed by the speed changes if you consider the possibility to give them pathfinding in MoM thanks to a single warbear casting, plus the enchanted road change. And that they should therefore get their speed back...

Speaking of which, I've been pondering about logistics. Isn't it strange that the ability raises the tactical speed? It seems that it should actually raise overland speed to me. What if we did that, and gave it to dwarves because they're good at organisation or somesuch? Then they would still be slow in tactical, but on par with the others in strategic. The ability shouldn't be OP mind you: +1/5 levels or so, which would make it +2 only with a double experience level bonus.

We could then play around with splitting movement and logistics for heroes, reducing the OPness of windwalkers as well.

actually, heroes can always reach level 10

We already agreed we don't want spells/abilities that increase overland movement speed in the game.

Agreed. Overland is super dangerous. For instance, your logistics dwarves, at level 4 (attainable on what, turn 4?) would boost movement by 1 or 2, which could then be added to windwakers like air ships. Whole it might make sense lore wise, we still have too many overland speed boosts as it is.

Ah, no, I didn't mean to propose that the ability would be inheritable. Only unit specific. I'd use this unit on heroes very cautiously, isn't the current logistics a balance nightmare given how tactical works? It lets you do any non ranged node very easily.

If that's too much work just bring the poor dwarves back to the same as any other unit, as in MoM? Or are they fine as it is?

They've already been changed to speed 2, per 5.01

Ahhh my bad. I'll celebrate that with a dwarves game!
