Woden, I fundamentally disagree with your assessment of what accepting or not accepting Archduke's alliance offer would mean for your chances in this game.
But it's done at this point, so I'm not going to complain about it. I'm just going to present you with the situation, as I see it.
I understand that you're gunning for Minas Geraeses, worthy goal, I get it. But, you've effectively wagered that Archduke is not going to kill me in the interim. If he does in the next 30 turns, you're toast and the game is over. Yes Minaes Geraeses are strong, but Archduke is about to get 1,000 science from Darwin. I estimate that he will be deploying subs at about the same time you start fielding your UU.
I'm not confident I can hold Archduke on my own, and your military can no longer counter-balance him. He also just got 8 free swords. I need help to win agianst two great admirals, specifically, I need enough gold to upgrade my caravels too ironclads in a couple turns. I actually just offered you a loan in game to this very effect.
If you want to revisit my offer for Jerusalem and accept it, I am very open to that. However, I really need the money now if that is the case. With this in mind, please either consider accepting my current loan offer, or declining it and on your turn offering me 480 gold for Jerusalem.

You forgot to add one thing, oledavy. With Woden off his back, there is nothing stopping Archduke from eating my core in 10 turns when the peace deal is up. With Norway (junk cities) and Germany (powerful district galore) in his hands, I am not sure what can stop him.
Three versus one might have made a difference but now....

Do what you can if this comes to pass. I will endeavor to help defend your core if I am able.
When does your peace treaty with Archduke run out?

Peace deal was sent to him on T133, he accepted this turn (T134), so I guess T144. Feel free to help me out, my navy isn't that mighty currently (German cities have lost pop during occupation and need time to regain strength)

You both think of me as an all out aggressor. In reality, if I had not intervened on Oledavy´s behalf, Singaboy would have won the game easily.
Now the peace was an idea by Singaboy. The smart thing would have been not accept it, the german core is way more useful than the norwegian one.
But the peacerules could have meant that I would have sit on that core and Oledavy could not have bothered with Norway.
So frankly I am not sure what I should have done different.
Seeing Woden´s military, not allying me, if I accept your aggressive assessment of myself, would have been suicide to Oledavy´s benefit.

I agree. However, think of our talk less as "He's the aggressor!" and more "Here are things he might do to win!"
I realize this thread creates an awkward audience effect when people are plotting your demise, but there's just nowhere else to chit chat.

Archduke, you overran my core in a matter of turns as there is absolutely nothing from stopping GA double boosted frigates. Frigates are bombards on steroids, they move and shoot at the same time shredding any city defense and killing any unit in sight. The design of my core Island means nothing is safe from them. Only a far superior fleet (in numbers) would be able to counter that.
I had been wrong in my assessment that walls coupled with crossbows might counter that. I now know better that Island maps are England's paradise. Only Japan and Norway are able to counter that a little better.
You would be a fool not to use that power. No need to portrait yourself as the underdog here. Norwegian cities are brutally underdeveloped (not sure what Japper did all along). Not even a single harbor...I wouldn't have been the automatic winner, not too sure where that is coming from.

You dismay is understandable but look on the bright side, I have vision on both your lands. There are advantages with the current diplomatic situation.
As for the deal you sent, I will have to see it. I need a little money for a few upgrades and I just put in Professional Army for upgrades and will be swapping it out next turn. I can limit it to a few upgrades and send you what is left. If it is not what you need, give me a few turns.
Added: Wow, I go to reply to oledavy and 5 more post show up.

I'll supply some information in good faith.
You have coal east of Salgueiro on the peninsula. You have another coal 3 east of Beija Flor. You may want to pre-mine them.
You can do this for me in the interim, and I ask this not in exchange for the above information but as a way of helping me stay in this. It's especially critical in helping me determine fleet deployments and builds in the critical next 10 turns.
How many ships does he have? How many caravels, how many frigates? Where are they, not specific locations obviously, but the general location of his main fleet and its vector.
If you keep me appraised of his ship movements and builds, do not advise him of the same for me, and keep your caravels away so he does not have vision of my fleet size or deployments, this can be the new basis of a partnership going forward. I will fight, you can sit back, build, and supply me information.

A small part why I accepted your offer. If you and I went to war right now, the only one to benefit would be oledavy, as he would hit your backside and take your cities while we fight it out. He still has the highest science rate.
