Okay, RB bylaws would have had me murdered by my own entrails if I didn't post this.

Islands do make for some tasty Moai action. What else are you finding different / enjoyable about this map?

Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm a right cad for not updating, particularly when it's been a very interesting point of the game. I'm writing tech manuals for my Real Work ™ and publication materials for my hobby (Coldlight Press presents ONE SESSION kits with K1: Night at Fausen's Manor). So that's been the writing itch. Still been playing a game of Civilization 4 though.
The biggest news of the game, which I'm sure you've all (both? Figure might be more than two general lurkers here...) seen, is Ipecac deciding to eat himself some tasty India. I spotted the invasion fleet with my nasty borders-ignoring caravels. Who have proceded to scout just about everything else in the world, too.

Adrien disappointed me in the war; not really by not holding, it is hard to defend against chucklenaughts at tech disparity, but rather by granting peace to Ipecac. So Ipecac took a healthy crop of cities and then scurried back, because I sucked it up and stone-cold teched Astronomy.

It...wasn't soon enough.

Now I'd be cheerful about this, except his chucks and maces are pretty hard defenders thanks to the Chicken Pizza. That's resident in Beijing, the finest city in the world. That my galleons are five tiles away from.

Next turn will be critical. If I can cap China's cap (burn, duh) I'll get enough gold to straight burn to Chemistry and this will be a very profitable war indeed. But Ipecac has over 700 gold for upgrades and he's at most two turns from Astronomy himself. So if this splashes...my mission is the get out of the fight ASAP; he's dragged down enough as it is to be back in the pack and Colossus is gone. Wish me luck, folks.

Whew. Used all the maces, but...
Woot. This has to be a horrific feeling. Ipecac has seen all these incredibly fast galleons just rocket in from out of nowhere.

...and with this, he's down to just a dozen cities. He's going to mass upgrade his galleys soon, which will be painful, but the important thing is that I have double the build queues now.

Alas poor Ipecac; it's hard to contemplate what horrific range Nav1 galleons have...
