Turn 21: The Rivers wind on and on... (also a belated score-report)

I move the Slinger and meet La Venta to our south, we are not the first to meet (meaning there is someone below La Venta and someone to the East past Vilnius) but we do get the PolyPhi inspiration out of the bargain!

Our Warrior continues west pushing the barb scout further that way in the process (let's hope we kite him into another player twirl popcorn ) he uncovers more river valley, but so far no player. However, I did hear the "player met" ding after ending turn so we might meet someone on the interturn, or it's just another civ 6 glitch shakehead .

Also an overview on the score (was planned for yesterday as it was turn 20 but I was a little too "buzzed" to be very coherent in turnreporting toast )

Pindicator is at 14 Empire score, that means he has a second city or like, three sugar/rice tiles in his capital, he also leads us in military power. I expect he went Warrior-Settler or something similar as his opening. We have a pretty insane lead in civics by now, at 6 civic score, with 2 more points coming up soon when we finish Craftmanship next turn when we hit three improved tiles shades  Jester is at the top of the military power and at the very bottom of the scoreboard Iiam (double/triple slinger opening perhaps?)

Turn 22:

Craftmanship is in so I set up the Agoge card, as I want to go Archer-Archer after the settler, I've dropped to middle of the pack in military power, and middle of the pack is where death is. Sadly I couldn't slot in Urban Planning yet, as we still need a few more turns of God King to get a Pantheon.

Turn 26:

No screenshots, Steam ate them. cry

First Settler out! I move him north to grab that chokepoint up there, since La Venta basically blocks off expands to our Southwest. Sure, someone could theoretically still plant there but it'd be hard to defend. I started the capital on an Archer. I plan to crank out another one after that, and go take out La Venta to fully secure our border there. I plan on building additional Settlers for at least the site above La Venta and the one next to Crater Lake after Political Philosophy (faster than you might think, only about ten turns away after we settle our first city). With the Slinger already circling back to the capital for an upgrade we'll soon have our hands on the Machinery Eureka.

Anyone have a particular W40k planet in mind for the second city? I was thinking of going Macragge or maybe Fenris beacuse of it's northern tundra location (I also prefer the Vlka Fenrikya over the Ultrasmurfs *runs for cover*)

I still think pumping a second settler out and finishing a campus would be more benificial than already going into war-mode.
I know the agoge card is attractive, but so is 3 cities and early science boost.
After all, settlers will rize in cost quite quickly.

Turn 27:

Met Pindicator to our south, he met us with a scout so that explains his earlier military lead. This finished Writing (I neatly left it at a little over 50% completion earlier) allowing me to zone the campus at Terra. I switched the city back to the archer it was building, but I will go finish the campus after that. I'll research Mysticism in the meantime to avoid cultural wastage, this delays poly-phy a couple turns when compared to hard-culturing State Workforce, but since we need the campus anyway I'll write that down as a wash.

since holy site/religion isn't high on the list anyways, going for mysticism isn't a bad idea, since you won't get the boosting bonus anytime soon.

edited: confused pantheon and holy site for some reason

Turn 29 With Jester (finally) back from his break, we can get started again:

All in all a quiet turn but I did get to snipe a barb scout with our Slinger, apparently Pindicator got a poor roll with his scout and left it at 1HP. This delays the slingers upgrade by a turn, but every bit of experience is good right? If our Archers earn the Volley promotion, they fight on equal footing with Pindicator's America boosted ones.

Next report will be big: We'll finish an Archer in the capital, settle a city and I'll get a review on the scores as it's a nice round number. Stay Tuned!

Turn 30:

First of all we settle the city of Fenris, appropriately just on the edge of the frozen wastes:

I started it on an Archer, with the Archer we just build in the capital and the Slinger swinging home for an upgrade, we'll have three archers to take out La Venta and give us the Machinery Eureka. I also started the warrior on a trek back to Fenris (just imagine how it must be for him: the tundra he left behind him as he explored is now suddenly home to a thriving city of his own people eek ) If it all works out they'll meet up in our core in time with Archer 3 finishing in Fenris.

Now on to the scores:

We are first in culture and science, but last in military power (you see why I wanted the units now Mike? lol You and your mad talk of settlers!)

Don't let our position at the bottom there fool ya, if you add up the scores we're actually at the top with 29! Again that damn glitch where the UI can't count (take note for the RB mod Brick, at least everyone can agree with fixing these sort of interface things). I'm surprised to see Alhambram so low, maybe he has a low production start?

I like these numbers so far! Let's hope we keep crushing the demographics like this! hammer
