New Civ4 Pitboss (38?)

I'm idling in game. (twice actually - home and work PCs)
Hosts correct, ports forwarded, on both PCs. I've never had an issue with multiple players before unless it was on their end.

I'll leave it up at least a few hours in case anyone needs to test.

Elkad, I can confirm that I was able to connect with your work test.

Thanks, Elkad! Good idea.

I was able to log into 2059 with no bounce

i logged into the test game while he was logged in just fine.

getting ready for bed now... clock is ticking if y'all want your drama........  dancing

Hey all, I am parked in 2059 for awhile if anyone else needs to test for NatNeg bounce.

I will also PM the last 3 folks that have not set up their spoiler thread, and if I get around to it will check and PM anyone who still needs to access the game/natneg.

Sorry about that. We're trying to get everything into playable form (and trying not to obsess about over-balancing stuff, knowing people's early choices and neighbors are going to throw most of that out the window anyway) but we're all cramped for time. I did random.org the leaders and civs and posted them in the lurker thread, and I've posted (hopefully) the final drafts of the starts there too* but I want to make sure everyone actually knows what we're doing with the picks before we post them. I can think of about five variations, so I want to make sure everyone's expecting the same thing. Here's the way I'd do it; please correct me if this is silly:

1a) Everyone gets two leaders and one civ to start with, posted in spoiler threads (I think there are still three players who haven't created one; do we PM their picks to them?) You'll also see a screenshot of your BFC before you have to pick.
1b) You can decide to keep the civ or throw it back and roll a new one.
1c) You can coose your leader from the options posted or reject both. You can't "hold" one or both leaders to await whatever civ and/or alternate leader you get; you're picking the leader you want to play in the game, or rolling the dice on getting something better.

2a) Once everyone has made their decision for the round, a lurker posts everyone's choices in this thread, and the leaders and civs that were rejected are mixed in with the choices that didn't end up assigned to anyone in the previous round. They're randomized again, and everyone who discarded a civ and/or leaders gets replacements for them. Nobody will get a leader or civ that they rejected on a previous round.
2b) You can again keep or reject your civ, as above.
2c) You can again lock in your leader or reject both.

3a) We post the results of the round 2 picks, reroll all the leftovers again, and roll leaders and/or civs for anyone who hasn't chosen one yet. At this point, you're stuck with whatever civ you get.
3b) If you haven't picked a leader yet, pick one of the two options. The other is consigned to the dustbin of PB38 history.

* - I'd have posted the screenshots in your threads already, but I'm still waiting for others to glance over them and make sure I didn't accidentally miss something important like putting one of Xenu's triple gems on tundra instead of sea ice, or giving Commodore's Workboats too small a cape to sail around before they can hook his billion seafood tiles, or putting the wrong promotions on the Helicopter Gunship we're giving Boldly in place of his starting Settler.

GJ. To clarify the picking.
We will have no idea what other players picked, who is or isn't discarding anything, or what is available in the pool, until the whole process (all rounds) is complete.

Is that correct?

Good question. The way I believe we've done it in the past is that you have no idea what options the other players had, nor what other players are picking, during a given round - each player should post their choices in their own thread - but in between rounds, everything about the previous round gets publicly posted in this thread: Who got which options, who picked what, and what got discarded. So you'll make your round 2 decision knowing what else was available or taken after round 1, but won't know which of the discards or left-outs will still be available by round 3.

[EDIT: Also, thanks, DZ. Hopefully we'll get confirmation from those last players soon....]

Personally I would rather it be as in Elkad's post, and we DON'T get to see what's left, etc, between rounds.
