Obviously this can also be done. Or we could even withhold information about which picks were discarded by whom until the game ends, to minimize material from which to make guesses from out-of-game information. (Or in the other direction, we can post everybody's options here at the beginning of each round, and keep only their actual decisions secret until everyone has made their choice for the round - which I think has also been done before.)

The one thing I think will definitely end up being public is which players still have to make their picks for a given round. (And thus at least some of the players who discarded something the first time around.)

Does anyone else have a preference?

First post looks to be out of date, with ghostpants still listed as a player and picktype showing "Standard Snake." Also it doesn't list game rules like the limits on diplo communications, a link to the "What does Don't Be A Jerk mean for double-move purposes?" thread, etc. Hopefully a basic summary with links will be posted in one of the first tech thread posts when the game is hosted, just in case.

I prefer Refsteel's interpretation.

Taotao's tier list is subtle, but noted. We all know TBS will win, man.

Public or private, I care not for picks.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Guys, what is our pick method? Surely, it cannot be standard snake with this amount of players?

read RefSteels post #367 and onwards

1a) Everyone gets two leaders and one civ to start with, posted in spoiler threads (I think there are still three players who haven't created one; do we PM their picks to them?)  You'll also see a screenshot of your BFC before you have to pick.
1b) You can decide to keep the civ or throw it back and roll a new one.
1c) You can coose your leader from the options posted or reject both.  You can't "hold" one or both leaders to await whatever civ and/or alternate leader you get; you're picking the leader you want to play in the game, or rolling the dice on getting something better.

2a) Once everyone has made their decision for the round, a lurker posts everyone's choices in this thread, and the leaders and civs that were rejected are mixed in with the choices that didn't end up assigned to anyone in the previous round.  They're randomized again, and everyone who discarded a civ and/or leaders gets replacements for them.  Nobody will get a leader or civ that they rejected on a previous round.
2b) You can again keep or reject your civ, as above.
2c) You can again lock in your leader or reject both.

3a) We post the results of the round 2 picks, reroll all the leftovers again, and roll  leaders and/or civs for anyone who hasn't chosen one yet.  At this point, you're stuck with whatever civ you get.
3b) If you haven't picked a leader yet, pick one of the two options.  The other is consigned to the dustbin of PB38 history.

Ha, at the risk of offending other players, this list does read like a subconscious (?) ranking of the participants.  Just consider the source (#19) when reading this.  I am cool with it.  nod

In what kind of ranking can I be above Plako? smile
