Are you sure; isn't that still the always war game in v8.3?

Yep, that's definitely the always war game on port 2059. Evidently I forgot which port that one was running on when I tried to spawn a new instance running on port 2059, so it got bumped up to the next port. The new test game is actually running at:

Thanks for catching the problem, Dreylin.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I'd class it less as a "catch", but more like "walking in with my eyes shut".

I knew there was a reason it hadn't been done before but I just tried adding CivBeyondSwordWBSave as an attachment file type. The problem appears to be that the file type is too long and gets truncated down to "CivBeyondS". So I guess if you renamed your uploaded file type to file.CivBeyondS it would be allowed, but that's not exactly the functionality we're looking for.

I'm not sure if there's an easy modification to the forum software to extend the field length allowed by that feature, would probably require some googling and testing. But I need to go pick up dinner right now because the natives are getting restless.

I'm not blaming you, I'm just saying it's your fault and you should feel bad about it.  nod

Here's a tip for the newbies ... don't know if it has been mentioned before in this thread or not, but maybe it will saves someone a few clicks and a few seconds each turn.

You can create a shortcut to Civ 4 BTS the directly opens in a mod, rather than opening Civ 4 and then loading the mod. Simply create a shortcut to the game and update the target like so:

1. Create a shortcut to the game (Find the Civ 4 program on the start menu, right click, send to, Desktop)
2. Right click on the shortcut, click Properties.
3. Edit the Target by adding: mod="\RtR Mod 2.0.8.4"
--- Include the " as shown. Also include a space at the end of the current target, before mod
--- In my case with Steam install the full target is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod="\RtR Mod 2.0.8.4"

You can then re-name the shortcut, and either leave the shortcut on your desktop, move it somewhere convenient, or right click on the shortcut and click "Pin to Start Menu"

I should probably feel bad about a lot of things, but usually I don't.  plub
