RP Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Darius I of the Holy Roman Empire

DMOC Wrote:Nakor do you know if building a cottage directly on a forest is faster than chopping, THEN cottaging?

It's the same number of turns, but chopping first has a few benefits - 1) You get the forest chop sooner (which can also work out the other way, depending on what you're building) and 2) Removing the forest can allow other workers to get on the tile if it's not roaded and you are planning on cottaging with multiple workers

It can be a different amount of turns on other speeds (quick / epic) but you'd have to check on that

I agree, DMOC.
Do you have good thoughts on what to build in our other cities?

BTW, those 3 Rathauses really produced +18gpt!

Machinery after paper it is!

regoarrarr -> thought so as well. getting the chop sooner can be beneficial, given the right situation.

Going to tell Whosit that Korea has machinery... maybe he/we can sue for peace there.

I don't think Korea will be willing to negotiate peace but we can try.

Yes, those rathauses are really good.

Nakor - in the future we should chop first then cottage smile

Right. But getting it later can also sometimes be beneficial. Like if you're finishing up something and then building a settler and want the chop to go into the settler.

Or if you're short improved tiles, keeping the forest until the cottage appears can be useful.

Good points, guys! I still have a lot to learn!

Nothing finished this turn, but next turn there will be a lot of growth in cities and we'll research paper. I'll trade world maps with our allies and call our scouting troops/galley's home.

Machinery will probably take 4 turns (1 at 0% and 3 at 100%).

I spotted another entrance to our lands for Korea, another forest. I'll put two LB's there as well. I think we do need more military (LB's and maces) since India is whipping as well.

I'll probably whip Stardock again next turn for that rathaus, after that a LB and a few workers.

Rolan will build the workboat before the worker, and then some military/navy. We also could build a Marketplace there, what do you think?

Sethanon is building missionary's. Next one to Rolan, then Yabon.

Krondor needs more cultural buildings, or we might loose the cow, so I suggest building a monastry there next.

We need to get that banana hooked up soon, or health will become an issue.

Nakor - when we switch back to 0%, I suggest we switch to 0% research on Education ... might tip off some of our rivals (can any see our research?). Then we go back to 100% but on machinery. Just a thought.

Played the turn. Unfortunately I made a slight gaffe. I moved the axe guarding the worker by land's end on the silver to protect from the barb warrior -when I realized that the axe should have protected the worker by the jungle roading.

I couldn't take the risk of putting our worker in the jungle unescorted so i pre-roaded the sugar north of carse. Sorry about that.

Other than that .. Crydee -> Barracks. And the settler has been loaded on the galley for carse. Whipped Stardock for a rathaus. That city was costing us more than TEN gold per turn. Glad it will be something like 2.5 next turn. A longbowman has been loaded with carse. Also ... worker loaded to other galley for Carse.

I don't think Rolan needs a market now. More important priorities.

Research is at 0% on education but we'll switch back to machinery once we can run 100%. smile

Pulled the catapults back out of the stack by the forest by korea ... should try and make our stack look more defensive so korea wont be inclined to build up their forces by us.

PS: Don't forget to test the team mavericks intrateam pitboss game.

Good job!
Moved the axe towards Kumbah Saleh again to scout out troops there.
You think that Barracks in Crydee are worth it or should we try to get Maoi there?

I planned on whipping Stardock this turn as well.

What do you suggest we build in Krondor next? Should we put a monastry there before more miltary? We need the culture...

Maps got traded around and we now see most of the world.
Another Rathaus finished, as well as the forge in Rolan.

Time to start a new round of military and some expansion.
Machinery will be in in 3 turns. Do we go for Engineering or Education afterwards?
