Archduke and Emperor K team thread

I am almost done with defensive tactics so no point in fully researching it. 3 Turns.

Also that is a very hard choice for a city spot. Ultimately it is up to you but I think 2NE is the way to go. It will be defensive (except from sea) but will block off a chunk of available land to china.

I am almost ready to push out many settlers. I want to fill the remaining land. I will have to do another round of builders after words, as well as purchase traders as suggested.

Thanks for the hint with defensive tactics, I switched around and wait for your inspiration.

3rd trader will be bought next turn. 2 more galley chops done.

We are rather lucky that the focus of our neighbours is not on us, I am nowhere near ready for a war even if it would be a small border skirmish.

I also have not been able to add a note on the map since the CQUI was broken by the expansion and you seem to have too many for me to handle atm.

I can take look next turn T the pins. However for me changing resolution. I believe reset the list and added the the add pin button. Two turns too defensive tactics. Then Ill swap to settle mode. Let me know if you would like any more information. Got a missionary heading up towards your northern city.

One turn until defensive tactics is complete.

Next turn starts settle push. I have a missionary enroute you help out your northern holdings. China and Rome are getting out of hand. There science and culture is extremely high. You were right to fear them. No idea what to do about it. They also grabbed crusade so that is going to make DotF hard to keep.

Any chance you can get a Holy site down just for defensive missionaries?

My culture will jump up but will be a good 20 or so turns before that happens. I want cities so that is next priority.

I also switched all of my pins to 'just me' so they should not show up in your list any more.

Nothing to do but hang in there. After the commercial/hansa round, I will plop down campi, but this is a long way off.

Rome and China was a nasty combo and we are the late bloomers.

Count your blessings we could be in a war with our late game strength irrelevant.

The next 20 turns will see us catch up quite nicely.

Definsive Tactics is in. Started on Feudalism, I will have the six farms done for the inspiration. Also Machinery is 3 turns away, so we will have xbows as well as lumber mills.

Swapped to settler card and am building 4 settlers. I want 5 more cities so now is the time to expand.

I will have the second whales hooked up after my settler push and then after I pump out some more builders (with 5 charges). This will allow me to develop my land. Going get several improvements down. After that I need temples and commerce / harbors in all of my cities.

Thanks for the boost for Defensive Tactics, just in time, too. I will follow with Feudalism, thereby avoiding the near impossible 6 farm inspiration. Have you checked my lands for farming? Ugh.

In any case, things are finally getting together. -1 per unit results in +70 Icon_Gold, soon to be +:80:.

After some galley chops, I prepare for a round of wall induced district chopping.

Alschwangen will do a forest/wall chop and finish the 2nd district, get a granary, build a worker, stoneharvest a galley into aqueduct.

And yes, wall chops and galley chops are that strong. They are a 100% bonus on those hammers that you want into your city sooner rather then later.

Memel is slower, because I can not build any galleys there, but will stoneharvest the walls in about 6 turns (it can grow thanks to the lake)
And Königsberg will do wallchop into campus district up there. I am not seeing any chance at Gadmirals in this game, not with the Mausoleum in english hands.

In the east, both hansas are done soon, bringing me up to 5!, soon 6, which means the first Great Engineer is a lock in for Germany. The Great Merchant got away, thanks to a project in Rome, but to I am not a fan of Crassus, I like the next one more. Buy another trader, and I will buy 3 more over the next turns.

Every city in the east will prepare walls for junglechop walls. The capital will provide the builder for that. Our new frontier city prepares walls for a stoneharvestwall into a Hansa probably.

I do not think I can or should establish any other hansa/commercial hub triangles. Costs of those tiles are prohibitive and I can do a cluster of 2 each at max, which means ressources for the Hansas and in the case of city 7 a river is a better boost.

Capital finishes settler, I am undecided if I want the site 7 which I have planned for so long or an isthmus city, probably site 7, I have enough ground to settle and I do not need a mediocre site right in China´s face atm.

And I want that island. Badly, so that is where my next settler will go.

I estimate that my infrastructure is established in about 15 turns by the latest and then we will see if we can continue to build (if Kongo/Khmer is split evenly by the two teams or if they are still alive (yeah right) or if we need to hammer attack the team which swallowed them whole.

If I am wrong I have no idea what that GG is for or what Rome/China is doing DoFing us.

Damn, remind me to do Ilkum Workers and prepare them in every city a turn before feudalism hits. Nearly forgot that. You should prepare for that as well.

I will need to put Feudalism on hold for about 10 turns. I need to finish 2 settlers out Holybram, then my cities will need to pre build builders. I can make a swap in two turns if you think it is best to pre build them all now and put off my expansion plans until I have many of them at one turn?

What do you think, continue on settler path, or swap to pre build builders then finish feudalism. Which is better for both of us?

Also says that my friendship with Chevalier has come to an end? Good thing xbows are almost ready.

Settler path.

Renew friendship if you ask me. I doubt we want to attack the GG and GA boosted West.
