Thanks for the info, Ref. That's an awful long time to lurk and not take the big chair but there are any number of reasons not to dive in so that's neither here nor there. It does say, though, that there is a high likelihood that he is going to be pretty tuned in regarding typical RB meta. I wonder, though, at empire management and micro ability. It takes some players, including me, a few games to really refine your play to be competitive. That is magnified by the number of players here. Lacking specific info, I didn't have Rusten highly ranked coming into the game compared to much of the field. This isn't so much a mark against him as me not wanting to ding the other players in the field, many of whom I have great respect for as opponents.
On to business.

There goes my free win against the barbs. I was hoping that would last a little bit longer, especially with my scout still so close to culture. Maybe I won't get too chewed up. I'm not holding my breath.

As for what I posted you're going to have to wait patiently.

I seen you joined for a very long time, why you didnt played any MP games here(I know you played some at cfc, here is much better).

I am looking to join some now however.
I thought I remembered reading Rusten's name before this game. Ref, you reminded me of this from mack's thread in PB31. If Rusten was instructive to mack then I'm going to have to reevaluate him as I have him rated too low. I would anticipate a better outcome than what I just wrote a little while ago.

Pretty much mauled.
I won't be getting too much more out of this scout in all likelihood. I'm not going to sit and scout. I'm far from home and don't think it will be worth it to sit and heal for many turns, essentially fog busting my neighbor's land. I'll try to take it easy but my expectations are pretty low for this scout now. On the upside, Carter Page will exit the stage.
I've also been kicking around a nickname for 2metra. I have started thinking of him as the human rain delay since he's been last to play turns a lot so far. Does anyone have a better moniker that you'd be willing to loan for any other players? (shameless lurker interaction ploy)

I've met another civ, naufrager (is that french for something?), SW of Rusten. With this spacing it looks like I've probably missed my closest neighbors, one of whom must be Superdeath. I'm thinking the ratio is something along the lines of 3N/S:1E/W for the staggering of civs. I've seen limited coastline so I'm guessing there are limited inland lakes, hopefully enough to make naval warfare interesting. I haven't had time for flying camera tricks and I doubt that my scout will last long enough to get much of an E/W axis analysis so this may be the best map guess I provide for a while.
Noted in other threads, I'm sure, Buddhism and Hinduism have FIADL. With any luck, one of my neighbors will be among the chosen few with a religion, with better luck they'll build a shrine, and, if fortune favors the bold, I'll end up with both. But I'll have to dig out of a slow-ish start first. I'm already lagging behind expansive civs in the demos. I'll have wheat hooked in a couple of turns.
I'm back home now after a week of travel so hopefully I can spend some time (at work, obviously) catching up on some of my player and lurker analyses. Let me know if you have any questions, but honestly things are very straightforward right now. And if anyone misses a turn because they didn't put their password in thread, IMO they have no one to blame. I'm glad we didn't pause.

Probably comes from Latin: https://fleursdumal.org/poem/152, l. 13 f.: "Velut stella salutaris / in naufragiis amaris..." (Like a salvatory star / In bitter distress at sea...) -- if so, it looks to be from the same root as "nauta", sailor.
I'd guess that it's the corresponding verb in some language of the Iberian peninsula (all of which have deleted the final -e of the Latin infinitive), and that it means "to be / get lost at sea".

I got graphs on Rusten, he founded one of the religions. Hopefully I can get a spread. Scout is still alive, inching along the terrain, worker in transit toward the other wheat. I will grow EoT. Not much else to report right now. I saw a full strength bear near my cap. Maybe it will eat a couple incoming scouts for me.

I think the one thing about your naming scheme is that it will (should) change on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. You will have the best naming schemes.

Your use of superlatives is WEAK!!! He will have the greatest naming scheme the world has ever seen!!! But I think the capital should have been called NO COLLUSION.

I forgot about running my turn reports through the Trump Translator:

By the way, I will grow EoT. I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke. I'd like to take some money out of her fatass pockets. But I will say, not much else to report right now. We have a real problem here - I saw a full strength bear near my cap. To be honest with you, maybe it will eat a couple incoming scouts for me. Hillary Clinton was there at the proud birth of ISIS.

I can at least run old turn reports through the lie generator. There is just so much material here. So much word salad, bald faced lies, individual criminals, memes. There really is no limit to the possibilities. Without a hint of irony, it really is sad.

This can be arranged. There should also be a WITCH HUNT. And I need a list of Trump's nicknames. Lyin Ted, Crooked Hillary, Liddle Bob, Little Marco, etc.

News from the last day or so:
Hope is lost (for slipping up and telling the truth, kind of, to the FBI). Can someone explain to me again how a 20-something with very little experience in PR/Communications becomes the senior coms person at the White House? Toby Ziegler, if real, would die of humiliation.
To keep Hope alive (in our hearts?), I'll name a worker after her. Or something. I think I named worker A after the Mooch, Anthony Scaramoochi, the greatest meme to ever invade the White House. His was a star that burned far too bright, for far too short a time.
