You might be right, but how is it possible to play the same game with different XML files (you guys had v12.1. files and I had v12 files) for the first 10 turns. I mean, why wasn't the game crashing for me when loading the game with wrong XML files?

Edit: Interesting, superjm. But does that mean that if I had continued without noticing the error, I'd have had +50% bonus with FT while you guys would have been getting +25%? Is that really possible?

XML files are fundamentally just data. If the underlying core DLL (which, with 12.1 being a quick balance patch, is identical to v12's) is able to properly parse the data in the XML files the way it wants to, then in most cases it doesn't really matter what the data actually is. The game will just proceed with the numbers that it has been given by the XML files, because if the format of the data is correct, how would the game know that the data itself is wrong unless you specifically tell it that that's a thing that matters (that's what Lock Modified Assets is for).

Makes perfectly sense. I'm in no way understanding much of XML files or anything like that; I'm just trying to understand a little bit how the game works. Thanks for the clarification.

I can probably do 1 or 2 turns, then I have to go to bed. 3 AM almost.

That's fine, I need to get a couple things done anyhow.

Almost 30 turns in one session seems pretty good to me smile

Yes, we played way more turns than I expected. Thanks, all; hope you can function tomorrow, Auro.

Thanks guys, I think I'll manage... if the kids won't wake me up at 7 AM... wink

Yeah, this was a great blitz. Last turn from me sent to superjm.

Apparently I forgot to send the save after playing. Sorry for the delay in what has been a very fast moving game so far.

has the save hit a snag somewhere?
