Japper and Alhambram go bongo bongo in the Kongo [Spoilers within]

Rho is about to attack Valletta, there a bad part to that and a good part:

bad part is I only found out because I became suzerain this turn, so that's a wasted envoy...

But the good news is that he will now have a city directly at Subop's borders. We won't have to rely on him acknowledging the threat, he'll be forced to!

Oh damn, getting your campus pillaged sucks! alright Good luck!

Oh by the way: I've lived in the Netherlands for six years and didn't know what Patatje Oorlog is yet, so I googled it...um, no thanks! lol

Well, that's why it got added to the list, for those who don't know it looks disturbingly like someone took a big wet dump on a pile of fries lol . It's actually fries with Indonesian peanut sauce* , onions and mayonaise. Where in the Netherlands did you live?

*probably why it's my favorite way to eat fries, with a half-Indonesian father I grew up on the stuff. Indonesian cuisine serves it with practically everything.

Here's a (somewhat authentic) recipe for the sauce for those curious, also delicious with meat or stirfried vegatables (called gado-gado in Bahasa Indonesia). It's a mainstay of most South-East Asian cuisine. I suggest you try it, you'll never have ketchup again after:

-Crushed salted peanuts (or peanut butter if you're lazy like me)
-Coconut Milk (or whole milk if you don't like coconut)
-Sambal Badjak (an Indonesian red pepper paste, replace with sugar, soy sauce, garlic, onions and chilies if you can't get it where you live)
-oil

-In a sauce pan lightly fry the Sambal in the oil to release the flavors
-stir in the mashed peanuts and cocunut milk at low heat untill the mixture is thoroughly heated through. Don't let it come to a boil or stick to the bottom though, it gives it a nasty flavor! Keep stirring!

[if people like this I can post more recipes. Cooking is one of my favorite passtimes along with gaming]

I love peanut sauce! Although the Indonesians I know really don't like the version that you get in Dutch snackbars. I don't dare to imagine what they'd say about mixing it with mayonaise!

I've moved to Delft a few months ago, before that I was in Amsterdam.

Though luck with that barbs, you need Ngao's now, not only for barb but also for possible eagle warrior invasion soon if Subopitmal decides to press his luck against you soon.

I switched Colonization for Urban Planning (so we now have both Agoge and UP running for maximum hammers for units), I have a Builder out to chop an Archer and a Ngao in Frikandel and another completing in the capital.

Settled our last city for at least a while, I have plans for cities between me and the city states between me and suboptimal but I desperately need units right now.

Rho took two CS on the same turn yikes I'd better hurry and snap up Brussels before he takes that as well! Bright side, if I were suboptimal right now that damaged city state right on my borders looks very tasty shhh

I have two Ngao and 4 archers right now, two more on the way (one will be built in the capital after it repairs the Campus) I think I have enough to make my play against Brussels

Sorry for not reporting the last few days, been busy with university. Anyway I'm now at 4 Archers 4 Ngao, which with Conscription puts us exactly at zero gold, it's enough to ward of rho for now I think but not Suboptimal...

I've also started hitting Brussels, I've killed 3 Archers of theirs so far at zero losses for me (the AI in this game shakehead ) , at least it's strenght hasn't gone up yet meaning it doesn't have swords or xbows.

Another 2 Archers and a redlined chariot on Brussel for zero losses on my part. The Siege is slow with this many units on Brussels part, but at least I'm banking up a lot of promotions. If I can get an Archer to Expert Marksman promotion (2 shots per turn) it is almost literally twice as effective. I'm still facing the dillemma of gold problems, the big deal; is that I have zero gold producing tiles, I need to get some plantations amnd/or Commercial Hubs out before I can afford more units (useless to build them if the strike disbands them anyway)
