[SPOILERS] Pindicator promises brighter days ahead

Turn Rolled:

I know score doesn't mean much, but its nice to see hard work paying off.

We got the Parthenon:

I set the city to 1t a Confu missionary for Wust.

We got the NE.

We got the academy:

The cap has 4 forests to chop. We need to do it soon and get those cottages working particularly the two grassriver tiles. What do we want to chop there? CKN/Elephants? Or do we save them and try to get Notre Dame with four chops once we get engineering?

Monarchy comes in 1t. Engy looks like it will take 4 turns, maybe 5 when GA ends. Can we wait that long on the chops?

We are breakeven at 70% without any gold builds. The shrine is in play. I spread confu wuth the 3 missionaries, all successful, only Wust and Pieffer left to convert. We gained like 6gpt with the 3 spreads. Each missionary seems to be worth 2gpt.

Are we planting that port city this turn? Is that city going to be a net positive?

Comm has another settler here:

He's colonizing. I wish we could kill him. Our CKN are the rock to his scissor praets. But of course we can't attack him while Gav is a threat. We need more land tho. Eng>feud>Guilds>knights kill Gav.

I've been thinking about the defense of the south. It's going to depend on the culture. Buto is going to be key too. I set elephantine to pop borders next turn and also 1t build a wall. We are going to lose a pop or two, unavoidable without 2nd ring. I think we can do first ring pop, start a market(chop into it) and pump culture with as many artists as we can support. We have 3 unhappiness, but next turn we can swap into HR and make those happy.

I didn't finish the turn, I did obvious moves, but haven't done a lot of the worker stuff yet. But I can do that later. I finished all my grading. Let me know if you want to do it together or you want me to do it?

Hey, that scoreboard is looking nice!

I went to bed early last night - been really tired the last few days and hope I'm not coming down with something. I will be on tonight but may not be able to give much time if I'm still feeling like this.

Notre Dame would be nice considering we seem to be a little happy crunched in this corner of the globe. At least I've noticed we have a number of cities about to bump up on it. But another thing to consider is saving them for Oxford - especially if we want to turn the capital into a commerce monster that would be a great long term fit.

As for the settler, it doesn't look like there's going to be an opening around Gav's cities like I was preparing for so we might as well get another filler spot planted. Is there any other location besides that coastal spot I have marked?

How do feel about our defenses if Gav decides to come at us with that HA army? If you feel shaky at all on that we probably should just chop out a bunch of elephants.

I mention this because Plako lost 2 more cities ...

It was why I mentioned chopping eles in the cap. And that was before plako lost those cities. I think Gav has retaken every city he's lost besides the 3 he lost to us.

Should I play the turn? You can meet me on discord and you can talk me through while I play the turn if you are feeling up to it. Let me know. I'll play the turn in about an hour maybe.

I'll be in my tonight at my usual time if you're able to be on, otherwise I'll make a post with what I can't finish.

Daughter peed the bed, I am awake, I played the turn.

Not too much to report. Monarchy in. Engy started. I set tech to 80% and we get it in 3t. I started wealth builds in Kramer and Pieffer to afford it.

I swapped into HR, Kim now looks like this:

I considered starving the city with artists and I considered running no artists to get the market done 2t earlier. In the end I set it to a middle ground. What do you think? Should we take the plains mine back from Fontana and get the market done earlier with one less artist? FOntana needs the mine though to build is walls and then a lighthouse. It really needs that, maybe more than the walls. Check it. I think maybe lighthouse first there actually. The city cannot currently be hit by 2 movers out of the fog. Not without 2 roads including one on a flood plains. I'm feeling a bbit more secure there. I'm working to get more grass farms up in the area as well.

So if you go in, maybe swap the wall to a lighthouse in Fontana.

BTW lurkers, last turn one of Gavagai's GG HAs died. We were 5th in power and then we were 4th in power. Blood has been shed.

Wow, that's a lot of Hereditary Rule happiness going on!

Thanks!

Only wish you could have given us pictures of it too... frown

I decided to take a peek and was caught with a surprise:

I took the deals because I could not see downside to it. And I could see a downside to rejecting. I also swapped Dahlmeier to a 1t chariot so we could get a sentry going through his lands.

Do we trust Gavagai to hold his word? Is this a ruse? Are fish still sacred?
We've seen that the last few turns have been bloody ones against plako. Do you think we can take advantage of a window here to go after TBS? Because if we go after Gav again we need to stay until he is eliminated, because he won't give us another pass. (And I don't know for sure that this is a pass; this is more likely just the realpolitik coming out.)

But I really want to go after TBS.

Or Commodore?

EDIT: If you see this over the next few hours and agree, we could swap to Feudalism still. The turn has 4 1/2 more hours left to it... Knights against those two farming neighbors would be just the thing

Ok! Go for feudalism. And makes sure to start the lighthouse in Fonatana. And Kim still keeps the 2 artists we need to get the cow tile
