We finished Notre Dame. Boats are loaded and ready to land next turn, and I have units that can get onto the boats next turn as well so we will land by his second island city the turn after next.
Some pics of graphs:
I started a settler in dahlmeier. Should we start another settler somewhere else as well?
I also put HyoJun on a LB, 1t and it gives us enough overflow to 1t a knight the next turn. Gleischer is starting another caraval.
Let me know thoughts. If the turn doesn't roll you can log in after work and we can talk about anything.

I can get the next GP in 2 turn. go for that and start GA ASAP? or delay it a couple turns and grow Kalla so we have an extra pop during the golden age for Speccing?
Do we want to attack plako after NotGav? So much open land down there. We can alpha strike from Commodore's lands and raze a couple of his best cities.

Ok, lots to weigh in on and break is short:
Tech - full stream ahead for lib.
Golden Age - I would delay but more because I want cities out of revolt to work enhanced tile yields. I'll try to jump in again tonight and give an updated ETA, but losing Thebes to more revolt turns hurt us here
TBS - Agree that the best way to fight him now is to go for lib and boost our econ. We chose to pass on the window for fighting him when we went after Gav/NotGav
Plako - I want that land but realistically we can't fight both him and NotGav, and we're likely 10t away from ending the war with NotGav.
Dang, if we hadn't loaded into the boats already we could have just ignored the islands and then gone straight after Byblos and followed that on up to Plako. Well, I'm not sure even that is worth it.
We don't need that much in infra right now. A few banks, fewer grocers. The main thing I want are castles and they are cheap. Then yeah, maybe we do beat TBS by outgrowing him, eating Plako and settling all that land.
Speaking of, we can grab a spot south of Alexandria right away.

Actually if we went full on for Byblos the war would be extended. I think we take the islands over the next 4 turns, then plako likely takes Byblos over the next 5. Which then gives us a perfect alpha strike opportunity. When Plako takes Byblos we race in and slaughter his units and take Byblos from him.

Ok, that makes more sense. I was trying to figure how we were going to expend the troops needed to bust through Byblos and then be able to go after Plako and was having trouble with some of the contingencies. But it certainly does help if it's Plako crashing through the rest of NotGav's defenses. I guess he's showing indications that he is planning to do so to give you this thought.
I'm not sure I want to do more in a war against Plako than secure the south for our settlers / capture the ex-Gav cities needed for that. I don't know if this is more due to personal war weariness or more legitimate concerns. And there are some concerns: a protracted war to conquer him means less economy right around when the push for Liberalism is happening, and I'd very much like to run some wealth builds to get us up near 100% during the GA. Also, while I didn't ever think Commodore was a serious threat while we fought Gavagai (as Gav was also an enemy to Commodore), I think the calculus changes and he begins to see us as the chief adversary if there's a risk we conquer Plako and surround him on 3 sides.

Started playing the turn, but had to leave to take care of daughter. Landed 10 units on the first island. Put two Knights and a sword on the boats but we can still put a few more Knights on the boat, wasn't sure how many we want for the second island yet, maybe 2 more Knights for 5 units total.
There is a second barb city in the south. Plako has 1 HA outside the one city and an elephant headed towards it. Not sure about the other city. That is the end of the land tho.

Will you have time tonight to finish the turn? I should be available on discord as well.

Dang, i hate that i was right
Lewwyn and I were just talking about this last night: we are planning to rush for Lib because we need to deny TBS. But now he's started his GA a turn ahead of us and ... oh! how many times have we lost a race by a turn or two this game, and now we are starting this race a turn behind.
Our GA starts next turn:
The goal is to get Liberalism 8 turns from now. In order to do that we need to do around 7,600 beakers ... but I think we can do that with some research builds. We are going to have the ability to run very close to 100% - with adding 20+ merchant specialists and the bank at Kim finishing next turn, that's almost 100gpt right there. Right now we spend -150gpt at max, but that is also with a dozen units in foreign territory (and about to pull in some capture gold themselves).
Right now we sit at 560 beakers per turn. My guess is we jump up to 750 with the golden age initially, and then shortly reach 800+. We need to average 1,000 bpt during our GA to get liberalism in that timeframe, and I think that is very doable with a few research builds. But will it be fast enough?
To squeeze out a few extra beakers I swapped us over to Philosophy. TBS is 1-turning Paper and xenu finishes Paper as well, so this will give us a few extra beakers. Might as well take every extra beaker we can get right now....
