On the plus side, your map Dept has not been slacking off, although those all expences paid serveying trips must have been where your moneys been wondering off too.

I've been trading maps with my allies semi-periodically. Though I had mapped out most of the main continent and Centralia before that. Wish I had known how extensive the outer islands were, though. That's where the power lay.

Hi,
Whosit Wrote:On a total side note, I noticed that Vassals appear to be disabled. A shame. There goes my far-fetched plan to capitulate to Korea. Yes, I was actually considering that. If you have really considered that, what is stopping you from vassalizing to Korea via a diplomatic agreement? Surely the vassal game mechanics can be emulated manually, without colony costs of course.

Well the ingame vassal mechanic would force a peace treaty between Rome and Inca.

Can't emulate the +1 Happiness/all cities to master and -1 Happiness/all cities to vassal either.

Pretty much the primary reason I would have considered it. Pretty sure I can't convince slaze to "emulate" that.
Anyway, slaze is back at Bestine. He's across the river this time. I don't know if he's going to attack across it, or move over it, but I attacked with my Catapults anyway. Didn't do much more than scratch him. He's got three Catapults, and a ton of troops, so it's probably all over for me.
Lost an exploring Galley to a Barb Galley. I think it's an omen.
Too little, far too late, but I'm moving most of my Korean front reserves towards the Incan front. Should have done that a long time ago, I guess, once plako retreated. Basically, once slaze punches through Bestine, I've got nothing to stop him. He's also sending a small task force to harass Byss. Can't do much there, either.

Why did you attack across the river? If he attacks across the river into the city with walls (IIRC) he would lose his army.
Edit: Or did you sim it and the result was desaster?

I attacked with my catapults only because they probably do more on the offense than on defense. I didn't have time to run sims, though, since the play schedule got off the usual track. However, he outnumbers me 2-to-1, and I will probably hurt more from the collateral damage than he will (since I have few units).
Or in other words: If I didn't use the Cats now, I probably wouldn't have had the chance to.
So far, my RNG rolls against slaze have been pretty bad, so it's probably going to be a total loss for me. It wouldn't surprise me if he wins with no losses, but it'd piss me off.
