Right now it looks like that grass hill NE/NE/N of the capital is the right tile for city 2: it can share the pigs and the rice.

Have you settled on a microplan yet?

I haven't done any more micro after whenever my last micro post was. I'll revisit it closer to turn 9 and when we have more land scouted. Speaking of scouting, if we move 1S 1SE, moving 1NE reveals the fewest tiles, so we should only do it if we're pretty unimpressed by what we see next turn.

A dotmap will be easier to draw with more scouting. The hill plant that shares the rice and pig is strong, but we'll need to see what the water to the east is like. A city 1E or 1NE of the pig doesn't change the micro plan much at all. We'll almost certainly want a city on the forested hill next to the clams, so it's not that important that our second city shares both rice and pigs.

Yes the 1NE would reveal less tiles, but if I'm right and it's a flatland, you could move your scout 1NE 1SE. That way you would reveal more tiles.

MAUSOLEUM OF MAUSSOLLOS TIME, BABY.

lol We aren't building that. It's too expensive. Actually, marble is kind of dead for us because we want to avoid the religious lines as long as possible as Creative. Even the Great Library requires polytheism, which is dead beakers. Edit: But we could have a city with marble and six forests....

I would like to again submit my application for desert king.  crown PB38 and now this. Oh well. When we get our second warrior, if it stands 1S of where the scout is, we will fogbust everything. Nice chokepoint.

Demos for the turn:

Rival land is interesting. MfG/Crop is weird. What's a 1f/3h tile?  read

From your spoiler tag I presume that the water to the east is coast? Must be with all those water tiles.

duh I didn't actually check. It looks like it'll have ten tiles or more, so I just assumed coast.

Just checked. Yup. Coast.

Yum.

We can think about dotmapping. I've put in the obvious spot for our canal city. I'm thinking city #2?

There are a lot of hills to windmill for food. wink

More food, but it restricts the dotmap.

Well, hopefully the north is more interesting. The south seems to have a nice choke point between the mountains and west of them.

Yeah. With luck there will be seafood around there. We should keep in mind the distance. That area is very likely going to be our southern border with an unknown player. Hopefully we can lock it down and hopefully the desert and peeks discourages border wars.

I need time to do micro, which I won’t have until the weekend. The turn pace is very fast; I can’t complain, but it means we’re fast approaching decision points.
