Snake pick order:
1 OT4E 2 Mr. Cairo 3 Superjm 4 Gavagai 5 Donovan Zoi 6 Elkad 7 Old Harry 8 Lewwyn 9 Krill 10 Superdeath Mrrrrrr. I really wanted to try IND, but I think we won't get the chance with the 8th pick.

Due to sleuthing I have discovered that Magic Science is in Alaskan TZ -8 UTC, which I hope is still current. I'm in China +8 UTC. This works out very well for me as I will play mostly in the morning which has lot of overlap with Magic Science's afternoon and evenings. (I have to get a better nickname for you).
So to be clear MS you and I haven't talked about it yet, but I'm looking forward to a collaborative effort. I would like to have conversations in thread but I'd also like to have discussions outside of thread, possibly over discord. Let me know. This will be my first Civ4 game since 2014 with PB 13 and 15. Technically PB 38 with Pindi was my comeback, but I joined that game over 100 turns in. I've been mostly in hibernation what with working more and raising my daughter. But I quit my 3rd part time job and my daughter is 5 and needs less supervision so I guess I have more time. I was just looking over my own personal history with Civ4 and I can't believe how many games I participated in back then. Guess its time to get back on the horse. Bear with me MS, I will need to relearn and remember a lot of things. If you are curious you can look into my past history of games. I'm not much for sims, I usually do everything in my head with pen and paper. But I do my pen and paper in thread usually and/or with googledoc spreadsheets. I'm sure we can work it out. I have no expectations for this game. I have a reputation for being an aggressive warmonger, but then again I've won the only Always Peace game and had a Culture Victory in PB6 (has anyone else won a cultural victory? I don't know what happened during the break I took.) Then again I joined Pin in 38 and immediately launched a war plan. I would say I'm an equal opportunity offender. I have no ideas about what leaders or what civs I want to play. What do you think MS?

Pb18 ended in a tie TBS culture/Old Harry Fintourist etc Space win. I can't think of any other culture wins but it is definitely a viable strategy with the changes to RtR. See Old Harry's pb38 thread opening few pages for a bit of a read on that if interested.

Good to know, and no we will not be chasing CV. Once is enough. I see you've taken it upon yourself to spam each thread. A noble effort.

Repay my charity by spamming my and xenus thread in 41. Like Jake and Elwood, we're putting the band back together. Need more spammers.

In the PB40 tech thread they have taken to shortening my name to Magic, but MS is find too. If you are curious you can look into my past history of games. My portfolio of Civ IV multiplayer isn't very impressive; so far it's just PB40, which isn't even done yet. Still, I think I've learned a lot in that game that I can apply here to do better. Hopefully I can jog your memory on anything you have forgotten. I can do pen and paper planning too, and in the end, the micro plans themselves are what matters, not the method used to make them. (November 3rd, 2018, 05:44)Lewwyn Wrote: I have no ideas about what leaders or what civs I want to play. What do you think MS?We are guaranteed the chance to play Ind if we want. Even if every single player before use chooses Ind (unlikely), there will be at least one left since there are eight Ind leaders and we are eighth in line. That said, chances are good that the stronger Ind leaders will be taken by the time we are up. Another problem with taking Ind is that I think other players will be inclined to take it more than usual because they want to try out the cool new ability it has, so the wonder production bonus will be weakened due to competition. The wonder production bonus may be the weakest part of the trait, though, so I'm not sure how big of a deal it being weakened really is. For leaders in general, I like Cre for the lightly edited Big and Small map we are going to get from Mardoc. "Lightly edited" probably translates to "a lot less lush than you spoiled wimps are used to", and Cre allows you to construct the best dot map to make use of limited good tiles without having to think much about the trade offs between a slower ideal spot and a worse spot that has a better first ring. I think Fin is pretty weak in RB mod, but a watery Big and Small map would be the perfect environment for it to thrive, so it might be worth it. I like Pro a lot, and the change from CG to Drill isn't large enough to change my opinion. The granaries are the important part anyway. In regards to civilizations, I have no preferences yet because we haven't seen our start. I would not even be opposed to playing the Inca in this game as well as in Pitboss 40. Terraces are pretty good, it turns out. However, in general I feel that Fishing is a very weak starting technology now, so I think that a Fishing civilization would need a desirable UU or UB for me to want it, even with a seafood start.
