At least there's no bear interfering with city #2.
Agree with plan of settling a front city and then getting the most out of the land. On that subject, isn't the tagged "Filler/front city" a little unambitious? Settling the PH by the southern corn would be better. It's only 7 tiles south of original capital location. Might be within our sphere of influence without provoking. Need to get eyes on that territory. The forests are looking juicy too.

That was why I've just dumped the second warrior on that hill with fortification: I'm not moving it if a bear turns up. Settler only spends one turn out of culture, and enough people have lost their first settlers to two mover barb animals because they have played fast and loose.
Regarding front city, I've labelled that plains hill mostly because there is nothing there: it is more filler than front. I'm withholding judgement on the front city down there because we don't know how far OH is away. And let's not get greedy, ignoring the lack of happy resources and need to settle north of furs, the hammers dumped into Oracle. I want a good city on a hill, with food behind the city and no hills in front, but that requires what seems to be our mantra this game: More scouting.
(as an aside, if the warrior lives next turn, moves SW and discovers seafood, then City 4 probably has to be moved to settle for that if it is accessible from the desert. That will have a knock on for the front city locations.)

The good news is that the lion lives to help spawnbust barbs that will enter your borders?

All you could ever want to know about barbs: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/w...rs.299483/
Also, I think the lion gets deleted at some point and a new, healthy barb warrior replaces it somewhere.
Hey, I wonder if it is possible to figure out a minimum size to the land mass based off the number of barbs that appear?

I really fucking hate nightshifts. I also have to figure out the exact worker micro today and I just want ot go to bed.
Turn 33
Matched Lewwyn as joint third to second city.
The fish forces a city onto one grassland tile, but that means cities 2W and 2E of the sheep become viable, and we just need to confirm if there is seafood near the warrior decided to commit Seppuku.

That Lion was an absolute bastard, looking at the micro. Definitely going to need to keep that scout alive, to help cover the settling of city 4, and going to have to cut some corners with worker micro around city 2 (need roads on the tiles N, W and SW, and to do this and get the grass hill mine means burning 3 worker turns moving onto hills/forests that we don't road. City 2 is going to have to grow straight to size 4 on warriors to cover our deficits, no doing something sneaky like one pop whipping an extra worker at size 3 and overflowing into a second worker. Probably going to have to one pop whip a worker though (T45 whip), to overflow out hammers to get more warriors, and sit at size 3 building a settler for the Oracle overflow.
Including the worker turns put into roads to hook up city 3, and moving those two workers around, we need a total of 25 worker turns and we need 3 workers to complete the final chops (3 workers, 6 chops over 2 turns). I reckon that we can get one worker out of City 3 in the necessary time scale, but we will need a further worker dedicated to getting the chops set up in time (in addition to that whipped worker from city 2). And we are pushing a T60 Oracle.

Slightly further out sims, to get a feel for Oracle micro, highlight that commerce is the delaying factor, not worker turns. The worker micro is barely more than trivial, and the happy cap space does require us to whip a couple of items, but we can't settle horizontally without fucking research.
The tl;dr is that city 2 can easily whip that worker and regrow to size 4 (into unhappiness) but it works out better over the time to Oracle as it gives us an extra warrior to cover the chopping workers. It is also trivial to get the settler to 99/100. I'm finding Priesthood eot59 is what is happening, and then Oracle eot60.
Edit: Precise micro for city two actually puts it one turn behind on reaching 99/100 hammers, but with all the chops and production available, it only needs to work the grass hill mine for 3 turns over a cottage or lake whilst building the settler (I had it working the lake and both sheep at size 3 for all the turns, so this is trivial. It is more about micro around teh capital so city 2 works the cottage for the capital rather than the lake). But eot60 Oracle is possible provided no one rushes us, with Copper hooked T61 via city 5 (plus eot64 granary with 8 food in the box) and a settler completed eot59 in second city for city 6.

Turn 34
The bear will not cause a problem now. The scout ended turn 2E of the bear. If it moves onto the plains tile blocking the FoW the scout just dances around it clockwise, otherwise the scout moves onto the plains tile to uncover those two tiles and then moves off and returns home. It can scout the southern coastal fog from inside borders (ie moving 2SE out of borders for one turn exposure and then retreat.
Big news of the turn is Buddhism fell to either Gavagai or Donovan. I'd expect Donovan to have made that play normally, given Gav is playing EXP/PRO Inca and wants to grab Pottery, but Gav settled a second city a few turns ago and dropping a Holy City into it is a standard enough play. Gav also went Fishing first and I think he went for BW third yet (techs on T6, T13, T25) and would have enough commerce to make this work (and the food can just be dumped straight into settlers whilst chopping workers, he has not slaved yet).
