So my other thoughts:
*Swing - force waving something around *Squash - strong pressure force on an object *Bar - unit of pressure, the force of the air surrounding us and on whatever container being measured *Ninja - a type of fighting force *Drop - The landing has a lot of force, but the drop itself, while a verb, is really the removal of force *Fan - force waving something around, less forcefully *Brush - another very, but a very weak sort of force *Battery - stores energy, sort of force at rest Post-spoilers - Ground is the only new one. "Ground force" is a term but to me it's pretty obscure. My top picks are Swing, Squash, and I guess Ground. Then Bar. I think we were clued Force because of the strong tie to Newton, so I won't be surprised if we hit a gray word here either.
We seem to have consensus on our next word.
Point to SWING My first thought was that if SWING and SQUASH were our remaining words, we would have been given a more direct sports clue, or the words would have been saved for a later round. (The first clue allows for the most misfires on grey words.) But Force was probably necessary to clue NEWTON. And I might have expected Forces if the last word was GROUND. So I can get on board with SQUASH.
Given Azoth above and that we're basically tied I'll point to squash now with a ground lean for the next guess.
