TBS moves 1UPT

That formula seems to hold for all my cities, with the caveat that it actually rounds both ways(whichever is closer), as opposed to most functions in civ which always round down.

Also I have 2 cities with 2 population, the first has one converted citizen via rounding up and does not follow the religion, the other has one converted citizen via rounding down and does follow the religion. I thought the rule was you had to have greater than 50% of the population converted to convert the city but that's obviously pretty tough for 2 or 4 citizen cities so it makes sense to change the edge cases like that.

Actually a better way to think about it might be simply that if RP/TP >0.5 then the city will convert to that religion. The exact number of citizens is of course still useful for some of the other beliefs.

Hmmm, interesting. I wonder if that RP/TP > 0.5 hold true even with more religions present in a city?

We can re-arrange the formula you previously posted as

NUM_FOLLOWERS/CityPop = RP/TP.

The rule Victoria hypothesized was when the left hand side was greater than 0.5 the city would be converted, so whenever that rule is satisfied RP/TP > 0.5 also. It's mostly a question of which version suits the edge cases better. I'll need someone to found another religion in this game to test it out. wink

Confirmed that rule for size 4 cities as well btw, such a city with 2 followers will convert depending on whether RP/TP is greater than or less than 0.5.

The upshot to this is I'm fairly confident how many missionary charges I'll need to convert Kandy - 2. That seems worthwhile to become their suzerain and add +2fpt to my lavras. I think I'll be missing one missionary charge to convert my last city for a little while, so the cost is 2gpt.

I claimed my first Great Writer this turn, so I have to try fence the 2nd great work. Rowain is clearly the ideal choice, being far away and not a big threat to win the game. It's worth 4cpt to him so I asked for 5gpt. I'm willing to go down to 4gpt, would need to seriously think if it's better to find another partner at 3. My gold income is beginning to take off from the religion too and I don't have much military to spend it on(and mercenaries are coming soon also to make upgrading cheaper).  I'm considering purchasing a trader as soon as my commercial hub is finished. The hammer:gold ratio is quite bad, but it's better than just sitting on the gold, it gets the trade route in 3-4t earlier and opens up my capital to build a quite valuable watermill.

It looks like the deal sold Rowain the great work for good, rather than lending it to him for 30t as I thought. So I guess I should have asked for a little more gold. It's not too important though, most of the value is in the first 30t.

Al brought in a new legion(I can tell by the support bonus) in Neptune so I switched to a more defensive stance and upgraded another sword. Getting a bit more worried about a counterattack there, I'm considering putting down a second encampment. What I really wish I'd done though is taken Crusade over Choral Music. His city would have been easy to convert and that would really shut him down. Lately I've been thinking of how much I really want to build these Choral Music shrines when my culture will already be doing well with the Colosseum. To be fair I wasn't so confident about landing the wonder at the time.

Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure Gorgo is not a threat. I think the population of the Entertainment district city decreased, indicating a settler built. Greece also put down a 2nd Entertainment district which suggest Al just values the district for itself rather than access to the wonder. I don't think I agree with that, but it's good news for me.

I offered Rome peace, wanted to do so before I finished the Colosseum. He refused though, so I guess I can expect a counterattack.

I'm also getting a random 60% discount on commercial hubs. I should be getting a discount on most districts once I finish a tech to update the numbers next turn. Maybe the hub is early since that's the one I last completed? Doesn't look like there are more hubs than campuses in the rest of the world, so I don't think it is that. Will be interesting to see next turn if I get a double discount or if it just came in early for some reason.

Did you recently settle a city? I noticed a random discount on a commercial hub a turn or so before finishing a tech in PBEM 11 that corresponded to settling a city. I'm wondering if that might be another trigger to recalculate the discount in addition to finishing a tech or civic.

That would actually make some sense -- after all the discount appears to be recalculated when a district is placed or completed and a city center is, technically, a district.
Sending units to their death since 2017.

Don't do what I did: PBEM 3 - Arabia , PBEM 6 - Australia This worked well enough: PBEM 10 - Aztecs Gamus Interruptus: PBEM 14 - Indonesia
Gathering Storm Meanderings: PBEM 15 - Gorgo You Say Pítati, I Say Potato: PBEM 17 - Nubia The Last of the Summer Wine: PBEM 18 - Eleanor/England
Rhymin' Simon: PBEM 20 - Indonesia (Team w/ China)

I haven't founded a new city in a while, and the discount is specific to the commercial hub when every district except the Lavra should have it if everything updated normally.

Yeah, no 2nd discount on the commercial hub. So it just got it early for some reason.

Colloseum is completed. My chops were worth 1 less hammer than expected so I couldn't get it during this turn. Might have a knock on effect of delaying Feudalism too, not sure because the UI doesn't tell me exactly how much culture I have invested into the civic.

I layed down the cheap (95h) Encampment and Campus at Moscow. Not sure I'll complete the Encampent soon, but I'll have the option of chopping it out if Rome comes calling. Next turn I put down a cheap Commerce hub as Voro grows to size 4 and then I can finally finish off Apprenticeship to boost my mine yields. It's only 3hpt right now so delaying for the discounts seemed correct.

CMF finally started a round of Naval Dockyards btw. I don't think he's built any other districts yet. I guess he wants to use the Dockyards to get discounts on everything else but by now districts are over 3x their base cost. Early districts seem to give very good returns to me so something seems off about this strategy. Probably he should have just aimed for the Dockyard tech earlier, it doesn't seem like he's had much else to worry about anyway.
