Busy at work, so less time to post. Opened the turn up to this diplo offer:
Rusten this turn and the last offered a luxury for luxury trade. I declined. I hadn't thought of out and out aligning myself with Commodore, but I did already have a silly attack planned. (On which, more anon.) This will be visible to Rusten, and he's super sharp, so I don't doubt that I have thrown away surprise by accepting. Rusten if you ever read this and wonder why I'm gearing up for an attack, the answer is, well, I'm bored stiff and you're closer than Pindicator. Sorry.
The mighty force with which I will attack, is a grand total of 5 units. Two catapults and three knights.
I did do something I thought was clever. I think Rusten/Hitru can see into Cathedral and Bafford's, so I made sure not to load any of their garrison. If Rusten's watching, and he's the type who would, he'll only see a couple anonymous galleons moving around, but he is shuffling troops all over the place so maybe 5 units at an inconvenient location could cause problems. The garrison of Marine Biologist is 2 units, one of which is a longbow. (Didn't check the other. I might be a little checked out.... Sorry!)
People have been taking their lumps out there:
I know I'll be too busy for a big turn 200 report, so this is good night for now.
Oh, before I forget, the tech trading screen is making Mr. Cairo look really advanced. He's the closest to rifles. Pity I don't have his graphs. Working on Gavagai's.
P.S. I just remember when I last posted, we were planning to take RedDot. Nothing down there has changed and I don't have enough troops to spare. (Maybe this was what Pindicator's message meant? He wanted me to throw Babylonian sons at Malinese enemies? For shame.) Pindicore is slowly whittling away fortifications with a single treb, but they've also burned the little whales city further south, appropriately named Pothole. I founded a new city for kicks. It has no resources, and I couldn't think of a name, so I named it Babble On. Get it? It is very clever.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
