[SPOILERS] naufragar, Charriu, and Zalson's Threepenny Opera

Double turn day! multidance

Rusten evacuated his garrison, and I burned Jujyfruits.

The frigate revenge fleet's a little scary. (Glad I destroyed his canal.) I've successfully evacuated the two knights and catapult. Still have to maneuver carefully so Rusten sinks Commodore ships rather than our's. devil

I offered peace after I razed Rusten's city. I hope he's learned his lesson. wink Pic unrelated.

Rusten offered a cease fire in response to my peace treaty offer. I took it. No reason not too. I've gotten rid of Jujyfruits and that was the only place I felt I could attack.

Commodore unloaded his marines and is making a go at PinkDot for fun, I think.

I'll keep a caravel around for tourism.

Civstats says Rusten took a significant city off Commodore. Interesting. Rusten's power is far above Commodore's now. Perhaps we are entering the endgame? I've set research for Chemistry on the way to Grenadiers. Never going to get there of course, but the Rusten Rifle Regiment could show up at any day now, so I figure I might at least pretend to defend.

A cease-fire? Is that a good thing?

I think it's pretty irrelevant, since it's non-binding. Rusten had no troops in our borders except for the frigates he used to tear up the fishing nets, so nothing has changed except their position. There's the tiny added benefit that any war weariness he has will be worsened if he re-declares. Geopolitics have made me incline to Commodore (darn PinkDot rant ) but it's not like we're blood brothers. (In my estimation. Will be interested to read his thread.) So I don't think I need to stay at war as a sign of solidarity or what have you. We're the third world: neither NATO or Warsaw Pact.

Whatcha thinking? What do you advise?

(I guess the thought occurred to me that we could throw our meager strength in with Commodore's push on RedDot, but eh.)

I was mostly asking to make sure you'd considered the geopolitical ramifications therein. And it seems like you have!

Thanks for explain your thought process.

Gavagai declared war on Rusten! yikes Maybe it's dogpile time!? (Or would be if we had more than four galleons, only one of which is on the correct coast. shhh )

But maybe this is the chance to take RedDot.

smile Sounds like a plan to me. I'll send some knights and a few spare units down that way. I suspect Commodore will burn it, but if we can snipe it before hand...well, do we burn it to? It would be yet another forkable city on our Eastern shore, but maybe Rusten's too preoccupied to snatch it back?

We can figure all that out once we have it. Onwards to victory!

Busy at work, so less time to post. Opened the turn up to this diplo offer:

Rusten this turn and the last offered a luxury for luxury trade. I declined. I hadn't thought of out and out aligning myself with Commodore, but I did already have a silly attack planned. (On which, more anon.) This will be visible to Rusten, and he's super sharp, so I don't doubt that I have thrown away surprise by accepting. Rusten if you ever read this and wonder why I'm gearing up for an attack, the answer is, well, I'm bored stiff and you're closer than Pindicator. Sorry.

The mighty force with which I will attack, is a grand total of 5 units. Two catapults and three knights.

I did do something I thought was clever. I think Rusten/Hitru can see into Cathedral and Bafford's, so I made sure not to load any of their garrison. If Rusten's watching, and he's the type who would, he'll only see a couple anonymous galleons moving around, but he is shuffling troops all over the place so maybe 5 units at an inconvenient location could cause problems. The garrison of Marine Biologist is 2 units, one of which is a longbow. (Didn't check the other. I might be a little checked out.... Sorry!)

People have been taking their lumps out there:

I know I'll be too busy for a big turn 200 report, so this is good night for now.

Oh, before I forget, the tech trading screen is making Mr. Cairo look really advanced. He's the closest to rifles. Pity I don't have his graphs. Working on Gavagai's.

P.S. I just remember when I last posted, we were planning to take RedDot. Nothing down there has changed and I don't have enough troops to spare. (Maybe this was what Pindicator's message meant? He wanted me to throw Babylonian sons at Malinese enemies? For shame.) Pindicore is slowly whittling away fortifications with a single treb, but they've also burned the little whales city further south, appropriately named Pothole. I founded a new city for kicks. It has no resources, and I couldn't think of a name, so I named it Babble On. Get it? It is very clever.

Alliance with Pindicator sounds logical. At least you don't have to be afraid of your western border.
