Civ4 bts game?

I would like snake pick with points (PBEM74) or mapmaker roll system as follows:
If its a small # of players (5), I would prefer mapmaker roll like PBEM77 where you get 5(?) choices of civ and leader to choose from If a larger pool, something like PB30 with option to reroll. Definitely would not like a roll system like PB43. Youtube Channel Twitch aka Mistoltin
About my longshot plan to draft more players. Some time ago I checked out Civ4 section of Civfanatics forum and found it surprisingly active. My idea is to post an announcement there. Older players may be unaware that someone is still playing pitboss games and newer players may be unaware that pitboss is a thing at all. We usually play games with a balance mod which diverged significantly from the base BTS and is probably unattractive for outsiders. A rare BTS game, however, seems like a perfect opportunity to extend our community.
I want to get feedback from others, however, before doing it, because there are certain risks. A typical new player is a person who lurked RB for a while and got assimilated into the culture of our community. Whatever people would come from civfanatics would not be assimilated.

As to the pick, my concern is that if players are allowed to pick and choose, leader and civ to keep separate, if you reroll, you are more likely to get the dregs as opposed to maybe getting a combo you can live with because the player who tossed the choice might have not liked the leader or civ. With BTS, traits are less balanced than Krillmod, so there could be a huge variance before t0. I could be convinced otherwise. You are more than welcome to invite outside RB. I hope maybe some stick around after this game if they join like JR. RANT. I do agree that we should try to grow the community. To me, Civ4 is one of the top 2 among all the games I played (the other one is Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma featured heavily in my YT channel) and it's sad how there isn't a more active community. Just look at civ subreddit for example. It really should be named civ5+6 subreddit. Once, there was a post by someone who had a question about civ4, and the community basically told him to ask at CFC. I do get that civ4 not being accessible due it's complexity is a major turnoff, and wish we could do something about it. In the past, I remember that Brick thought maybe there should be a RB wiki, and I posted that maybe there should be a tutorial on MP Civ4 just because the information in the report threads are so scatter. Now, most spoiler threads are barren because of the Dropbox stopping public sharing and breaking all the images. I thought about writing some myself but like I am not sure if I would be qualified because there are so much to civ4 that I really dont get like SPI and PHI. DTG, who I think is a very good player, wrote some tips for me that I think should be basic public knowledge for everyone, but not sure if he is ok with sharing some of his stuff. Played along with civ6 games just to support the small fledgling civ6 MP community RB but Firaxis dropped a nuclear bomb known as the GS patch, which ruined the game imo. How about this. With 5 players and Inca and India banned there are max 6 civs per player. This way we could avoid rehashing the same civs/leaders.
First round: Every player get 3 civs and 3 leaders to choose from. You can keep both, either or none of them. Second round: Every player that has not chosen a civ, a leader or both gets 2 new choices of that category. Third round: Every player still left without a civ/leader gets 1 of that category and has to stick with it.
