[Spoilers] Alhazard goes back to BTS

Looking at the border color closer, I am sure now that this is DZ. Looks like I got lucky with a neighbor, which is good considering the bad quality of my immediate land. I think I will settle the cities in the B plan to reclaim bad tiles as city tiles and only need 2 cities down south to get to stone.
SD got AH as I suspect by his score increase with global power increase by 2k.

ok so based on score increases from PBSpy, both commodore and DZ teched and based on the turn timing, both of them teched hunt/fish, which ever they were missing. So Commodore got fishing and DZ got Hunting (2k power) but the average power and lowest power didnt change. What gives? The only possible solution is that another player lost a warrior, which only gives Gavagai as the solution since he only has mining as a power tech, which is worth 2k.. Now It could mean that Gavagai lost his warrior way back on turn 9 and someone else also lost a warrior so DZ might not be helpless as I thought.

You know the joke that the correct way to use mids is to adopt police state and whip out an army? I might seriously do that given the bad quality of my land. PS gives 50% production so 45hammers per whip. A horse archer is 50 hammers so a 2 whip could turn into 2 HAs with some help on production. (Note: SPI leaders could whip out said army then go back to Representation and work cottages!) Even with 5 cities, do this 2 times and you get 20HA. The RM also got mining along with me.

Hey Alhazard, I want to say thanks for the regular reporting.

I'm not very familiar with standard behavior in Civ 4 multiplayer. Are you deliberately not contacting Donovan so you have the element of surprise for longer? If so, how long are you going to try to string that out?

Hello a lurker.

Thank you for stopping by. Deliberately not trying to meet DZ in case he has 2 quechas and sends them at me because I only plan to have 1 warrior by T26. Long as possible until I find copper or horse.

Not sure why I thought that PS gives +50% production when it only gives +25% production to units. So each whip/chop gives only 37.5 hammers. This definitely complicates the math.
Assume that the HA is at 12/50 and you double whip for 75 hammers and including 1 hammer from city tile, you get 13+75+1/50 = 89/50. Now you can work 8 additional hammers in between the whipped turn and next to 1 turn the 2nd HA with whip overflow. Alternatively, you put a chop in and with just city tile, you now get 39+1+37/50 = 77/50. I think the overflow goes to an axe/spear/chariot so you can 2 whip another HA and overflow can go into completing the partial build.
Now if you decide to not go for PS, 19+1+60/50 whip plus a forest chop with city tile (31) gets you 2 HA and the 11 overflow can goto another HA, which can be immediately whipped the next turn then I guess 22 production goes to a chariot or archer while the city recovers from whips. Whether to take PS or Rep then depends on forests available since I plan on 2 whipping a rax into stables and insta complete with 1 chop then spend 9 turns putting hammers into HA. I am actually liking rep more because of specialists but we will see.
Someone built a warrior from demos.

Having typed all that, I think rep is now the right choice. the 2 quick double whips mean that ideally I want the cities to have pop 7 so they can work 3 good tiles after all the whipping. Also being is rep will disguise the HA rush.
Capital: Fish+deer+1 cottage.
Silver city: Fish+cow+silver.
Corn city: Corn+stone+clam (I actually will be planting city in the original proposed location of the northern most desert.)
Fur city: will configure to max hammers.
Sheep city: TBD

Moved scout NW because I didn't want to risk meeting DZ but that is a dead scout. 7 point increase for chumchu is his 2nd pop since 1 pop = 6.6313 so 2 pop = 13.2626, which is a 7 point increase in score. Demos reflect this also with new high pop of 6k and 1k global power increase from the 2nd pop. wonder how he grew so fast. Probably a grassland deer that is not forested since he doesnt have Agriculture or AH. Even though my deer is 4f2h, it is actually dead even with the 5f yield in the early game, which I will explain when we get to the age of whipping.

Scout did die but it was not unexpected. According to the combat log, the lion attacked at 23.1% and the wolf had a 37.3% chance. Now you might think that this was unlucky but not at all if you do the math. If the lion wins 23.1% of the time, then the scout wins 76.9% of the time and the scout has a 62.7% against the wolf. Since I knew they would both attack, the real probability that the scout lives in the end was only 76.9%*62.7% = 48.21%, which is basically a coin flip.
Now as to the demos, both Commodore and Regent grew 2 pop, accounting for 2k power, but there was another 6K increase in global power. Where could they have come from? Now the top power is 13k so this is definitely from a player with 2 pop since you can't get an odd number of thousand of power otherwise, and only Regentman fits the profile since he has TW (4k) + Hunt (2k) + Mine (2k) + starting warrior (2k) already. So RM did produce a 2nd warrior on the same turn, he grew to 2, which is impressive in food output and production but not really since he is EXP so had probably a faster worker. Now he might go for a setter at size 2 if the capital only has 2 resources available. No idea on who else might have produced the other 2 warriors but not Gav from the still low power.

Reached 2nd citizen this turn with DZ. Wonder what the players with still 1 size capital have been doing.
1st in CY but I bet it doesn't last long. Anyone doing C&D should suspect that I went WB because of the high GNP and that I didn't research Agriculture to tech something with 2 prerequisites. There was another player who finished a warrior this turn also.

Everyone is now size 2. There was also a 2k increase in power, which I take as Gavagai producing another warrior since now the low power is 5k. Pretty good that he timed warrior and grow to size 2 on same turn. Will he immediately start a settler?
