Turn 186 - 1260 AD (Continued ...)
Finally got to take a look at the game!
I just thought this had to be amusing for India to see (my question is, though, why 3 workers if we're just roading which requires 2 worker turns):
Also - Northwarden can whip the Rathaus for 2 pop next turn (I like the Organized Trait) - but this means we cannot work a silver tile. Personally, since the city is costing us 14.63 gold per turn, I still think it's worth whipping it down to 2 pop. Whipping for science buildings or economical buildings should be our only whips from now on. Yes, the Taj Mahal counts as an economical building from my perspective ....
When do we whip Carse? I would do it in 5 (or 6) turns, because Carse generates just 1 hammer a turn, but we are already at 25/90 hammers for the library. 1 whip = 30 hammers so I think we can do a 2 population whip once we're at 30/90 hammers. Whipping for 3 is something I'd avoid especially since we've got a cottage that will be finished next turn.
Some screenshots:
-Domestic. This is just so I can see our population level growth.
-We need a worker plan. Should we cottage, farm, or workshop by Sethanon's tiles?
Reminders:
1. Culture signs should have the turn # on them because the use of culture signs is to show, over X amount of turns, how the culture has changed. It's not worth it to update the culture info every turn - if 10 turns has passed since we wrote a culture note and our culture is increasing, we know we're winning the culture battle.
2. Crydee - don't whip just yet. It can finish a university for 5 population points - too much right now.
3. 6 turns until Sethanon generates a Great Person!

This is why moving the gold tile to Stardock was a good idea, since Stardock has a higher growth rate than Sethanon. The reason why we kept the gold worked in Sethanon was because of the higher science multipliers - but I don't think that's the case anymore since Stardock has whipped a library.
4. Make sure Ironpass gets a culture buidling soon after the university. There is a crucial fish tile that is at 0% culture for both us and Inca - obviously we want that tile!
5. Queg - I like the plan you set up!

Longbow will be done next turn, and then a confucian missionary, then a settler.
6. In 2 turns, La Mut needs to give one of its mines to Yabon. Unless we can improve one of Yabon's tiles.
7. You wrote down a sign for Moai by Land's End. While I'd love to get Moai there, I think it's just going to be too diffuclt and too long to do so even with stone. Despite the fact that Land's End has more water tiles than Queg, I think Queg should get the Moai. Queg has vastly greater production AND is also out of the ring, so its ships, etc. can reach out to all the outer lands, etc. while Land's End is confined to the inner ring.
8. Otherwise, looks okay to me. Sethanon and Yabon are the two cities of ours with lots of need for improved tiles. Should La Mut build a worker after the settler? La Mut also doesn't have many more improved tiles to work. I think this justifies a worker, especially since our cities will be growing a lot and need tiles to work.
9. Did we pay back Ottomans?
10. WORKERS in our island (Queg, Darkmoor, Ylith). What's your plan with the worker on the tile with the "preroad" sign? Do you plan on finishing the road next turn, then finishing the cottage, then sending the worker back on a forest to chop?

Now ... here's the last thing I have to say about the Taj Mahal. Obviously, we want this wonder. Badly. Now ... I KNOW it says that India has 3 turns left on Nationalism this turn ... so in theory we could delay Taj and get the wonder at a later turn. But the problem is, India could be shielding their research. They know we have visibility on their research (there's a mathematical formula for it). So they could be pulling down their research to, say, 50% when in actuality they could switch to 100% this turn and finish Nationalism by next turn. Thus, the winner of the Taj comes down to a coin flip if both of us finish during THE NEXT TURN. This is why I support us whipping NOW unless we end the turn and they still haven't finished Nationalism. We never know what to expect from India who has used many different tactics to achieve their goals (remember that "Krondor" statement Speaker said - they never ended up attacking Krondor so I am forced to conclude that it was a simple psychological trick). In any case ... this is how we should play out our turn. We hold off on ending our turn. We see what India's research is. If we are the last ones to end our turn, and India is still on their current research level, we DO NOT WHIP but flip the turn over (India will still not have Nationalism next turn). If we whip now, and India couldn't get Nationalism anyway by next turn, we will have depleted some advantage of our golden age. Our TWELVE turn golden age. Obviously if India switches their research back, or DOESN'T end their turn and we can't finish the turn after they do, just whip.
Hopefully this isn't too much text to wade in.
