My yields are not keeping up. HBR is 5 turns away and Cornflakes just spent 20 horses. I am now seriously worried. I will finish the worker, but it seems HS gambit will devolve into a nightmare. I could have used that 3 culture a lot more then my HS. And the end of era/golden age won´t be enough to see me through.
The two that I would most like are taken. If DotF was available I would have taken it.
Currently I have a slight science problem compared to Hungary and huge culture problem. I have gone from being at the forefront to lagging behind considerably thanks to low culture (culture means governors). And I need horseman (forgot swordsman, still no eureka for BW) to defend myself or prevent a levy which kills me by Hungary. So alltogether my situation is bad.
In a future analysis on why I lost this PBEM, in one word city sites.
My capital is the only really productive city site. Space Lion was a misplant in retrospect, Blue is ok, but no fresh water. Considering it, I think I have atrocious land overall, especially compared with Cornflakes. It will be a wonder if I am not crushed soon. Might be almost as good as DotF and useful defensively if a city were to fall. You would get a +10 MS that could be used to wipe out the opposing army around the city, then recapture it. Or you could convert your city states for easier capture if you wanted to take them out.

Yes, Gentleman, I am in full crisis and defense mode. Masonry will be finished, walls will be erected/chopped, units will be spammed and prayers be given. Damn you China for the DotF, you just lost the game for yourself, as with both eating me, you´re next. Beyond all hope, maybe India wants to stay peaceful, maybe Hungary goes for China (he has to attack someone now). Once again going for religion proves to be a bad idea. I will be the target of classic age rush. A bit of justice mayhaps. Peace does not pay.  If one comes for me, maybe I will survive. If both. Not a chance in hell. I concur, Crusade could make a guerilla campaign a bloody affair for both. |
