Some pictures and discussion:
First of all, superdeath has 6 city sites he could've settled thus far without touching our continent. except for sd6 (which has a grassland tile, though), each has immediate access to either a deer or seafood resource. With creative, he could even settle a seventh site to the far east of this image, where a fish is two tiles away from land. Exapsnive means cheap workkboats, so he could easily make these cities whip heaven. Plus, they're all "intercontinental" so he'd be rolling in trade route income with currency. But he is superdeath, so none of this will happen, unless he survives this conflict with nauf.
The good thing is that SD makes the perfect puppet state. Behind in tech, cannot pose a naval threat, fighting a powerful enemy for us at the expense of everything he has, reliant on our aid to survive. In 2-3 turns we shall send him dyes.
Speaking of resource deals, boak signed one with nauf. I do not know if this is wise, but I agreed with the move, as getting gems for silk that we shall soon have more of is a great trade for us and a mediocre one for nauf (+2 happy for +1). But they are desperate, and we don't want the balance of power to shift TOO much to superdeath's favor. While nauf sees the prospect of victory, he will keep beating his economy up.
In terms of securing our key points, our scout is now free to do more important duties, since we now have a trireme on duty.
The scout will proceed to provide intel on Cimmerian, which we must take before nauf finds out about it. To do so, I have queued up an invasion party in Verstappen. After this trireme, we will make a galley, an axe, and a sword. If the garrison is warriors/archers, we will easily manage, but if it is anything more, we may have to wait for better units or overwhelming force.
On the other side of the world, we have scouted more of the borg's lands.
Couldn't catch the galley, but unless it hides in that one ocean tile inside borders, it will surely die.
Let's talk dev now.
Here's a plan for a Moai city. It has some productive capacity to push out the moai itself (it won't take long if we spread buddhism here. Our missionary ought to go here next since this is the least built-up city as of now). Moreover, it will have 11 coast tiles and 4 sea tiles to work, plus one quarry. Total of 20 hammers a turn with all tiles worked is pretty good.Forge and trading post mean 6 triremes/galleys every 10 turns, or at the point when moai will be built, more likely a caravel every 2 turns. Absolute naval dominance will be projected by this city.
With code of laws coming soon, once we build courthouses in the cities losing us the most gold, we should be at least at 100gpt. (Verstappen alone is costing us 11, and we have 12 cities. Simultaneously, we can start building new cities. What are our options?
We have four island cities we can plant, all of which look pretty good. With TGL+currency+intercontinental trade routes, they'll pay for themselves, and the first out of these should net us a huge profit.
COL in 4- 5 turns with gold left over.
Edit:
We should probably have the new trireme out of verstappen secure the southern approach that naufragaar can take towards our continent. (Point 2b?)
