How much of the gpt difference is due to Financial trait?

Pin is also Financial.  alright

Yeah, so with GPT the big thing is he just got Currency. So that's 26cpt difference right there. And honestly, after that we're pretty close. It's just the expenses that are holding me back, so much that he's gotten Currency before I even have Math. I could say that I'll be able to start growing these cities I've grabbed and soon they'll pay for themselves, but he has more cities and they'll all be doing the same.

I think I do need to slow down my expansion until Currency, however. I'll still head west with the next settler and lay claim to Disney, and I'll probably settle the filler spots around my capital after that. But I should really grow everything as much as possible onto coast until Currency comes in.

The barbarians are relentless

I honestly thought I'd have more of a break between waves, but I'm starting to feel really really thinly spread now. My axe killed 1 warrior and is sitting at 3.0/5 health. The good news is one more fight and he can promote again. In order for me to hold things here I'm going to need to have the southern barbarian suicide into my archer and the barb near my axe to suicide into my axe. Any deviation and I could have some trouble. So I've pulled my spear southward in case I need to have him shift over and help.

This means I only have a single warrior in the north of my empire. So I started an archer at Invasion, since the madrassa there isn't so important.

I picked a bad time to try to squeeze another worker out of Domination. I should have kept that city on pumping out units. I had been toying with trying to grow that city but I need too many units right now; I'll probably even have to whip Domination to get them out faster now.

Next turn some fun decisions:

I probably declare and move through their territory. I'm less sure whether or not I burn the city if I'm able to. It really depends on who it is.

I was looking at civ colors in the PBSPY page, trying to figure out who those borders could be. Nothing definitive, but there are a couple possibilities

It's going to be Commodore, isn't it?

Me and the Mouse are going to be best friends. (Until it's time to kill him.)

This commerce is saving my bacon. I'm now set to get Math in 3 (it was going to be close before this), and Currency now is looking to be coming in somewhere around EOT 96 or 97.

Madrassas are starting to come online too. Nemesis finished its madrassa and instead of starting the specialists I decided to put another worker out there.

Out west it was not Commodore

The city was guarded by an archer and spear so there was no attack to be had. I could have tried declaring and killing the worker / pillaging the mine, but that would give up any surprise I might have and for not much payoff. So I moved southwest.

Barbarians are not cooperating...

Met Gavagai in the north with my work boat:

Kind of wish my galley and work boat were swapped.  My galley has hit a dead end, but we'll see if we can pull him back southeast now.  Besides, the work boat is farther west.  Speaking of work boat scouts, one came down south from Mouseferatu this turn.  With luck he'll pass by right before my galley comes to settle on Disney.

Cities keep growing, and I keep forgetting to use No Growth when I have it marked in my notes.  The latest city to fall victim was Invasion, which lost about 7 food because of my neglect.  Going to need to use it in Ambush in 2 turns, to keep the city from growing to unhappyness.  This actually will save me 2 food longterm, if I remember...

Onslaught is going to start a settler as soon as it reaches size 6.  It's working a plains forest because with the 35% boost to Madrassas this plains forest is really more like a mined grass hill.  But once I start the settler at size 6 I'll move it to the coast.

The barbarians down south all attacked in and they both died without doing a scratch to my units.  But more are coming.
