You assume I'll live long enough for that to happen.
I'll just roll into collabs with either of them and someone else.
Barnes, Benford, Sterling, etc.
T89, Heorot settler is walking.
My WB on the far side of Borsche declared to get past his culture - after burning a city of his, I'm sure if he has a galley handy he'll kill it.
Colossus is gone.
TBW has currency. My new city pushed me over a straight 100% run for Currency myself, and Heorot will push that even farther down, so I'm back on cash for a few turns. I don't remember the new diffusion rule, but I don't think it's in effect yet.

T90.
Logged in to a CeaseFire from Borsche.
Denied, moved my WB (to avoid possibly teleporting backwards) and re-offered.
WB now sees the edge of 2metra's culture, I'll meet him officially next turn. He and Borsche might be land neighbors - can't tell, but even if not, their cities are pretty close together - enough they overlap on the culture map.
Good, I need another EP target, I'm stuck dumping too many points on Borsche currently. (or annoying a different neighbor, and he's the enemy I've already done a "small harm" to)
Lucifer punches out a SoZ powered galley on 92. It'll take nav1 and pick a new direction to explore. Probably due west.
Apparently I counted wrong, or prereqs count for Currency (or both). Turned research back on, 5t to go, 24gold to spare. New city will take some of that, but I'll get rid of a couple unit maintenance coins at the same time (tracker and settler)
Screenies to follow

Heorot settler/worker/tracker just arrived on the correct tile (NW)
I want that gems/cow/horse/crab/crab spot on the south end of TBWs land.
Can't find marble (other than far side of Borsche).
This one is much bigger if you open image in new tab.
Oath grows to 6 and 7 at 1t each, with Ivory and a whip penalty covering the new faces.
Lucifer is loaning wheat to Footfall, so growing very slowly.
If a few more of these hills were green it would help a lot. Or if my rice+corn had water, which they never will.
Very light.
Here I have just more than 1/15th the population. My share. But I'm #4, so a lot of people are well behind average.
GNP is merely OK vs Borsche and TBW, and I'm in 5th. Which says some other people are doing rather poorly here.
MFG is solid, if again not leading.
Food also solid, could be better.
My power is just sad. I'm basically tied with TBW, so his is sad as well. And he likely has cheap barracks points spread around for culture.
OH and Borsche are at/near the top. Monitorruler puts them both about 105k, with the top at 113k

Well, OH is closer than I thought, at least he is now. I must have just missed finding him when my scout turned around a billion turns ago.
Scout moved, saw chariot - and OH culture. After some staring at the map, my settler (only escorted by a tracker) actually settled Heorot instead of running away.
Fallen's Archer scrambles to help cover Heorot. That gives it 2 unhappy faces for sz6 with no MP present, so it whips the WB early to get back to sz5. Now no mil is only -1, plus the new Ivory this turn, so it's OK.
Overflow will build an archer or a spear, haven't decided. Probably the archer.
Another archer is on the galley. A SoZ-powered 9xp one. It'll drop into Heorot next turn as well.
So next turn OH can move SE onto the woods and look into my empty city(over the water) if he plays first. But before the next turn rolls around, I'll have a CG3 archer there, and another that can take CG2 at need. So random city-burning temptation eliminated.
My worker (headed for the wheat) instead ducks back to road the desert tile so it isn't in chariot range either.
If his Chariot tries to explore my land, he loses the OB that he is profiting nicely off of. He may lose it anyway in a couple turns, but I'd like to peek into that city first.
More worrying is the fact he has settled this far down without me knowing it.
I met 2metra. Switched EPs to him.
I'm in a hotel tonight, and tired as hell, so that's all the report you get.

As expected, OH pushed the chariot into my land.
I pushed a WB and a Tracker into his and got a peek. Then I closed borders and teleported it all.
I immediately re-offered, but the extra 5gpt I got from routes isn't worth letting him explore, so if he pushes back in I'll declare. Which will reset the 150% peace bonus.
If he wants to know how land-bottled I am, he can send a boat, not chariot around on my roads.
Not sure yet, since a lot of this map is old, but it looks like he is expanding long and bypassing filler sites. Towards me.
There is an archer and worker S of dotnet, so likely he's still pushing south.
Not ceding all this land to him.
My walking settler is now diverted towards the horse/sheep/clams site N of Heorot. It'll bring a spear and CG2 archer, and much like Footfall next to TBW, will get walls soon.
My exploring WB at GameTxtMgr will come back and hook the food.
Looks like HRE built the Kwisatz Haderach shrine.
None of my contacts have Iron hooked yet. (especially TBW).
Currency due EOT 94
Starting 4 workers next turn. I'm woefully short.

I'm in no hurry at all to pick a fight.
Given my history at these games (poor), I'm probably someone's target already anyway, so the fight will likely come to me.

Praetorians detected! (He doesn't have Iron on the trade screen yet)
Lucifer's Hammer (SoZ) is making 9xp archers at 21 shields/turn for the foreseeable future. Probably a third of them will jump the canal.
Footfall gets the barracks and walls in the next 4 turns with a whip+chop.
To the north, OH offered fish/fish and pulled his chariot back.
Let's be friends, at least for a while.
He's got a workboat headed my way. I'll let it duck through my canal city (Heorot) to get to his new site.
Borsche is overstacking EPs on me. I took it to 60 before I found 2metra. Borsche has passed me now and it's 60:68. Borsche and 2metra have a couple hundred on each other already.

Archer.
50% city bonus. 30% vs swords. 50% walls. 85% CG3 (including 10% melee bonus). 25% fortify. =240
Minus 70% (CG1 sword).
Net 170%
3*2.7=8.1 and 1-4 first strikes. (2.5 average)
Agg Praet 7.7
I'll have the odds, but not by a lot.
If there was a handy hill there for the extra 50% it would be nice.
At least archers are cheap.
And I'll stick a semi-super medic in there. 45hp a turn for any surviving unit, so he won't be able to whittle me down slowly.
Assuming I get 1FS hit, I need 4 rounds to his 6, so he'll be attacking at something like 30% odds.

T97.
Played before work (and before TBW). He had 2 workers on the Iron, and a spear.
Made detailed plan to get 2 9xp archers, a medic tracker, and a 2nd worker (for a counterattack road pair) to Footfall by T101
Logged back in after work.
He has a 3rd worker there and the mine is completed.
T98 he roads and starts Praet production.
T99 Praets get whipped.
T100 they move. Assume one from Cumae, one from Neapolis, plus whatever is behind them.
T102. 3 Praets (1 from Cumae, 2 from Neapolis) could be in place to attack on 103.
T104. 2 Praets from mystery cities, and 1 more each from Neapolis and Cumea are in position. Total 7.
T106. Assume 5 more, total 12.
So, now to stop that, in the next post.
